6 hours later

"Dear,it's 7.03!  Rise and shine, rise and shine!" Escher's mother sing-song voice drifted into her room from the kitchen. Rubbing blurry eyes, she got up from her bed, before making it down the steps to her kitchen. Iren, Escher's mother, was there, whistling happily as she cooked up whatever breakfast she planned for Escher, who at that time, honestly could not give a damm about what she eat, considering the things she had went through in the past few hours.

"At least someone is happy." Murmered Escher.

"What's that dear?" Iren questioned.

"Nothing...." Escher sighed, letting off a quiet groan that was somehow still audible to her mother. Iren turned around, with Escher's breakfast,  setted it down before looking at Escher with her soft hazelnut eyes.

She quietly asked " Is anything bothering you honey?"

A moment of silence past.

She asked her again, louder this time " Honey, there's anything you can tell me, now what's bothering you?"

Escher looked up slowly, staring into her mother's eyes, those soft brown eyes. There was so much she wanted to tell her. The past dozens of dreams she had, like the one she had yestarday, over the course of the past few months, starting from the first day in high school. The pain she felt when Markus betrayed her. The fact that the only friends she had were from her primary school, the loyal ones that stuck to her all the way up till now. There was so much she wanted to ask her as well. Were was her father? Why did he leave? Why does no one in high school like her?

She opened her mouth.

"Nothing Mom. Nothing is bothering me."

Iren sighed, but apparently took her words. She got up, hugged Escher and gave her a kiss on the forehead.

"If anything is bothering you, please tell me."

"Of course Mom." Escher said, feeling guilty for telling her Mother that lie.

Iren looked more satisfied with her answer and gave her her gorgeous sunny smile that always made Escher smile as well.

"Go now Escher, before you're late for school." Iren laughed before tousling Escher's hair and gently nudging her towards the front door.

"Love you Mom."

"Love you too honey."

Escher quickly picked up her bag, opened the front door and sprinted off, waving goodbye to her mother, while also desperately wishing that she really could be late for school, and skip it.

Later

"Late again, Ms Gold

"Late again, Ms Gold. Your excuse please?" Prof.Malcom questioned with a bored voice.

"Bu-but Im only one minu-!"

"And does it look like I can handle people with terrible excuses? Detention for you at 4'o'clock. Sharp." Prof.Malcom interjected.

Fuming, Escher stomped to her desk, with the class nearly on the verge of collapsing with laughter, she threw her bag on the floor before sitting down.

"And don't give me that attitude young lady! Detention for tomorrow as well."

That did it and the class burst into peels of laughter, rocking their tables and banging on the floor, tears of laughter flooded down their face. One boy laughted so hard he fell down his chair, causing more people to laugh.

Great. Just great. Had to make my life even better. Escher thought bitterly to herself, her face as red as a beetroot.

Class passed from then without any other incident, apart from the fact that once or twice someone will yell out " Don't give me that attitude young lady!" and the class would laugh hysterically. What infuriated Escher was the fact that Prof.Malcom didn't do anything about it, merely smirking.

When class ended, she was last to leave, not wishing to bump into anybody and risk getting teased by. Life is terrible ,Escher thought to herself.

What she didn't expect was the fact that those 3 hours of detention after school would drastically change her life.
