*Prologue

She panted heavily as she tried to haul herself away from the danger following her. Turning to the left side of the street, she ran for life, not realizing the dead end she was heading at.

Her whole being turned cold when she realized that she already set an end to her life off before they even did.

Closing her eyes, she covered her ears and tried to think of her mom, as drips of sweat running down her forehead, stung her eyes.

Then she heard the footsteps. She fell down on her knees and thought, this is it.

This is gonna be her last breath. This is gonna be the last time she'll ever try to save her life. While the sound of heavy, swift, trudging steps draw nearer, her mind starts letting her dreadful state sink in, making her accept the fate before her.

Now she can feel the attacker behind her, but instead of a sleek, cold metal incising her throat, she felt warm palms cover her mouth as the other hand pull her to the side. She then got a waft of a scent that smells so dangerous and heavenly at the same time, coming from the leather coat that had just been wrapped on her by the unexpected stranger.

Not long after, she heard another familiar sound of heavy running, coming their way. She don't understand but she felt like the stranger had unconsciously driven away her fear, and had given her a sense of security.

She didn't even know if the stranger is just like one of them. One of those men who at first, introduced themselves as someone who would save her and keep her away from the imminent threats to her life coming from the people whom she knew nothing about.

But this time, it feels different. Though the scent tells her familiar events from her childhood, which might have caused this hell of a life to her, she felt secure.

Like her senses tells her something is different from this one.

Whatever it says, an extrication or peril, she will do as he says. She doesn't really care because for her, she might be living, but she's already dead. She don't even feel like a living being since anytime, grave would be knocking at her door and she would be dead before she even knows. She was even at the verge of death just a minute ago so what would be the difference if she was killed by this stranger? And just in case this stranger kidnaps her like all the others did, she can just try to escape again, like she had been doing her entire life.

Suddenly, sounds of struggling and hard punches knocked her out of her reverie. It lasted long enough before the agonizing noise died.

Waiting for what will happen next, she removed the coat and turned her head up to face whatever she was bound to but to her surprise, she only saw a retreating shadow of the mysterious stranger.

This is no ordinary stranger.
