My encounter with Zarina

ENCOUNTER

Have you ever wondered about the parallel universe?If not, then let me enlighten you a little bit. The theory of  No one believes me and so I decided to write it down for people to interpret, so here goes.

It had been a long day as I returned home from college after answering the last exam paper. After the summer break of two months I would be entering university. Hoping into my home and snacking on some delicious yogurt that my mom made for me I went to the nearby park in my colony. The colony is green with trees and very few inhabitants.  The park though very beautiful is devoid of people. However, in the morning the senior citizens go for their early morning walk in the park. Taking a nature stroll in lush green park has always been one of my ideas of destressing. But there is something about this park that I have always felt, it gives that mysterious vibe. The fence that edges the park is adorned by beautiful creepers and there a stone path too and the park is home to these huge Gulmohar trees

I sat at the bench, it was 6.30 pm of the evening, the cuckoos were singing, there was tranquillity. Just then I heard a huge thud behind me. I turned back and out of nowhere I saw a girl fallen on the ground. I at once went and helped her get on her feet. She was a tall slim girl wearing a baggy black tee and jeans. She had shoulder length black hair with some green highlights.

She looked at me, her eyes gleaming and said, "Sofia, let's get back home"

I was baffled, "Excuse me, you are mistaken, I am not Sofia."

Suddenly a mild crease showed up on her forehead and I knew she was worried, I said, "Are you alright?"

"oh yes, Sofia don't fool around please, you need to come back home."

"I am not Sofia, you are really mistaken, what is your name?"

Once again her face looked gloomy. Examining me she said, "you are so much like her, your voice, and everything... never mind, I am Zarina, and you?"

"My name is Nikita, you look worried, I think I can help you. Let's file a missing complaint."

"Not now, I will find her myself, if your expressions hadn't given it out, any one would have mistaken you for Sofia, but your eyes find me a complete stranger."

"Can you tell me how is she related to you and can you show me her picture?"

"She is my sister." said Zarina, as she showed me a picture of herself standing close to a girl, which left me completely stunned. I couldn't believe my eyes, I have not even seen this girl Zarina before and she has an image of a girl who looks completely like me which I suppose is Sofia.

Seeing that I was stunned, Zarina grinned. And you won't believe what I heard next. I asked her, how is this even possible or is it a Photoshop?

She looked at me warmly and said, "I don't know how to explain, I will give my best shot, so it goes like this, there is a certain small percentage of people who possess unique abilities, like predicting accurately(that reminded me of Baba Vanga), or time travel,  well I can teleport from one universe to another, and Sofia can as well. She always wanted to try teleportation and had failed several times, but after the last time she did it before me, she didn't return, I have been since then teleporting through various universes just to find her and when I saw you I thought it was her. I guess people look alike in all universes, just the difference is that they are leading completely different lives."

For a moment, i stood there, studying her intently. I knew about the black hole theory but and heard about the theory of multiverse too.

I could not believe what this girl was telling. Either she was a very good story teller or delusional. I didn't want to offend her so I just nodded along as she spoke. A tear ran down her eye as she said that my personality matched with that of her sister, Sofia. Suddenly she looked at her watch and said that the portals would close if she stayed here any longer. Before leaving she hugged me and she walked away, never to be seen again. I had many questions popping into my mind, that I wanted to ask her.

After my summer vacation, I made it into the Central Wisdom Univerdity. It was my first day as I familiarized myself with my new classroom and surroundings. All faces were new and fresh, until my eyes fell on this one girl. She was Zarina. I felt glad to see her and I hoped she wasn't hysteric any more.

"Hi Zarina" I said excitedly.

She had an awkward look, she said "Sorry but you got it wrong, my name is Sofia and you are?"

"We just met two months ago and you said your name was zarina." I said.

"I have never met you, I think you have confused me for someone else."

At that instant, a chill ran down my back and I thought Zarina wasn't delusional, she was indeed from a parallel universe.
