I walk into the dark alley, heading towards the screams and menacing laughter. My favourite black boots slapping against the hard concrete with each step I take. It's not long before I see a young girl cowering against the wall balling her eyes out, her makeup ruined from many tears.

The girl saw me standing near the entrance of the alley, and started to plead with her eyes, knowing that if she calls out, it will notice me. Though there was really no point in her asking for help, because it had already lunged at her throat, and so she screamed.

Knowing that it will kill her if I don't intervene, I grab the collar of it's shirt and threw it against the wall. I held it there, making sure it couldn't move, and looked at it. With brown shaggy hair and pale skin it looked almost like him, like he used to be, but the black glistening eyes filled with hate proved that it wasn't. Two long sharp fangs, dripping with warm red blood, made themselves visible when it hissed.

I grabbed the wooden stake from my belt, and lifted it high, ready to plunge into its cold dead heart. Then with the thought of what it used to be in The forefront of my mind, I killed it, whispering a short prayer as it slumped to the ground. I turned back to the girl as it's body started to crumble into ash, trying my best to ignoring the stench of burning flesh.

I knelt beside the girl that had curled herself into a ball not long before, and rubbed her back making soothing noises in an attempt to calm her down. After a while she looked up at me with wide eyes filled with fear and uncertainty.

"What is your name?" I ask kindly, knowing I'll have to take her home soon.

"H-Hadley Jones," Hadley answered her voice still shaking from shock, "who are you?"

"I'm the hunter," I say before helping her up, and taking her home, grabbing my stake from its body and put it back into its slot on my belt. Once at her home I let her out, wiping the memories of tonight from her mind, and replacing them with getting lost and me helping her home, just like I have done for so long. I sigh knowing that wont be the only job tonight, and drive off to my next destination trying my best not to let tiredness overtake my body.
