Awkward Talks

"Hey Marinette."

He smiled, and Marinette returned it.

"H-hi Luka. The ship looks so nice!"

"Yeah... Mom insisted on going all out. But it looks so good."

Mari decided to lean against the banister. Luka followed suit.

"Those macaroons you made look really good, shall we go have some?"

Marinette agreed. However, as they got to the table, a hand slammed down on it.

"Hey- Luka, was it? My name's Lila. It's so good to meet you. Jagged Stone was telling me all about how successful your band is going to be!"

Luka looked stunned, where Marinette looked annoyed.

"Jagged? Did you meet him yesterday then?"

Lila smiled, one that could be assumed as friendly, but one that Marinette knew was covering a seething and manipulative character.

"Of course! We meet up all the time. I can tell you what he said about Kitty Section, if you like~?"

Luka took a step, standing next to Marinette, as Lila linked her arm with his.

"Uh... Sure, you can tell us."

Luka noticed Mari's mood change. He knew something was up with this girl, but he just didn't know what exactly.

"Haha, I don't want to take up any of Marinette's time with my blabbering. Why don't we go somewhere more private, like your room for instance?"

Luka sighed. He was starting to see her character.

"I'm sorry, but since this is a party, I'd prefer to stay up here. Plus, I don't usually have guests in my room. Plus, I was just going to have some of these macaroons, right Marinette?"

She's trying to get close to Luka... He's older, cute, and has a potential big career! Well I am NOT letting that happen...

"Marinette?"

She came out of her trance-like state and jumped.

"Ah-! Yeah, exactly."

Lila didn't give up easily.

"Okay then. I'll try some with you then!"

She gave a sweet smile, that disguised major frustration. She was cleverly disguising her true intentions, but she was now struggling to sustain her false kindness.

Lila purposefully placed herself inbetween Marinette and Luka, standing close to the latter.

"Wow, these are so good! Next time, I'll bake you some of my famous cupcakes. Prince Ali absolutely adores them!"

She continued to brag. Marinette started to become more and more frustrated, and Luka started to feel frustrated. He was glad to have some time with Mari, but Lila had come in and ruined it. Perhaps it was for the best... If Marinette didn't like him that way, it might have been uncomforable for her. Though she seemed to be unhappy now, and hadn't left to go with the rest of her friends...

"Hey, Luka, I think we really should meet up more often. We really click, don't you think?"

Lila advanced on Luka, putting her face inches away from Luka's. He stepped back, making Lila stumble and fall into Luka's chest.
