James Potter was hopelessly in love with Lily Evans. James was convinced that Lily was his soulmate, disregarding the many times she has turned him down with a slap. James needed to prove to Lily, his friends, and to himself that they were destined to be together, he needed a plan.

Remus and Peter were on their way to lunch in the great hall when James ran into them.

¨James! What are you doing?¨ Remus had a look of concern on his face when he helped James up off of the floor.

James pushed his glasses up on his nose. ¨Moony, Wormtail, I've just come up with the most perfect plan to show Lily that we belong together."

¨Oh, not this again, James. Haven't you bothered the girl enough?¨

¨You can never go after a girl too many times, Moony." James grinned at the two boys in front of him. ¨Sixth year is the one. I can feel it." James had been trying to win Lily over since he saw her in first year. Each attempt has been rewarded with a slap to the face.

"So what's your plan? Are you going to take her to this years Halloween ball?" Peter asked as they all sat down at the Gryffindor table.

Remus sighed as put down his sandwich. "The ball? Really James? Lily is not going to agree to go to the Halloween ball with you. You're just going to be setting yourself up for rejection."

"I'm not going to ask Lily to the Halloween ball. I know she's not going to agree to go with me so I'm not going to ask her out until after we've won our first match against Slytherin." James replied before taking a bite of his sandwich. "I'll tell you guys my plan after dinner when we're all together."

"That reminds me, James," Remus said. "Why didn't you get in trouble along with Sirius for pulling that prank on the Slytherins?"

"I thought he was behind me when I ran away, but when I rounded the corner and looked back I saw McGonagall taking him to her office," James replied.

"It's his own fault for pulling that prank." Remus got up putting his book bag over his shoulder. "We should get to class. Charms is starting soon."

--

"Who are those girls sitting with Lily?" Peter asked while chewing on a bread roll.

Remus looked over to where Peter was pointing. "I heard that they got expelled from their school in Canada for selling illegal love potions, but I'm not sure how much of what I've heard is true?"

"Expelled?" questioned Sirius.

"Love potions?" said James.

Sirius looked over to the two girls sitting across Lily before getting up and walking over to them. The other three boys followed.

"Evans," Sirius said as he sat beside Lily. "Who are these lovely ladies that you haven't introduced me too."

Lily rolled her eyes. "Go away, Black."

"Now, now, Evans, that isn't how you treat a friend."

Lily sighed before gesturing to the taller of the two girls. "This is Lee Parsay in Ravenclaw and her cousin Aly Parsay in Hufflepuff." Both Lee and Aly gave Sirius a smile. "They used to go to a wizarding school in Canada before they transferred here. I'm showing them around Hogwarts."

"Why did you transfer to Hogwarts?" asked James.

Aly snickered as Lee gave an answer. "We got expelled from our old school for numerous of reasons. Our grandmother lives in Ireland so we decided to finish our schooling at Hogwarts."

"Did you get expelled for selling illegal love potions?" Peter asked nervously.

Lee grinned at Peter as Aly replied, "Lee has a real knack for potions. It would be a shame to not put that ability to good use."

"I better bring Aly and Lee to their common rooms." The two girls waved goodbye as Lily guided them to their common rooms.

--

"So what was the plan you were talking about earlier?" Peter asked from beside James on Jame' bed.

Sirius looked up at James from Remus' bed where his legs where on top of Remus' "Is this another prank on the Slytherin's because I'm all for that."

"Another prank? Wasn't detention with McGonagall enough?" Remus said.

Sirius grinned, "You can never spend too much time with Minnie."

Remus rolled his eyes.

"I want to use a love potion on Lily to make her realize that we are meant to be together," James explained.

Remus gave James a startled look. "A love potion? James, you have got to be kidding me. You cannot use a love potion on Lily."

"Why not? A love potion would help us get together faster."

Remus frowned. "A love potion is not real love. Giving Lily a love potion will make her have a fake obsession with you."

James looked down to his feet. "I don't want Lily to be obsessed with me. I just want to prove that we are meant to be."

Sirius jumped up from Remus' bed. "How about we ask the new transfer students about love potions since they sell them."

James grinned widely at Sirius, "Wonderful idea! We can ask if there is a love potion that will show that Lily and I are meant to be."

"This is a bad idea," Remus said as he shook his head at two of his best friends.
