chapter 3 : incident

Emily's POV

we arrived at school. "i'm gonna go get ready" i said smiling at Alison kissing her cheek discretely. "okay em" she said smiling letting go of my hand walking to find the other girls as i walked out to the locker rooms.

All the girls got ready and headed to the pool before me , i walked around double checking no one was there before opening my bag and grabbing out the pills i'd packed and taken 2 drinking them with my water.

"Fields you're on soon come on" my coach called "coming!!" i said back shutting my locker and locking it running out to the pool ....

i looked in the audience for Ali and saw her with the girls , she smiled at me and winked and i smiled back at them all waving.....

I got up to the platform waiting for my teammate to swim to me , once they reached me i was in .... i swam as fast as i could... but that's when it all went black.... i lost control and went straight into the wall...

Alison's POV

i was cheering Emily on , a little more than the others. i could tell they were suspicious...

I was watching Emily , her speed disappeared she went further and further under the water and all of the sudden i saw her body floating on the water "EMILY!" i screamed running past everyone pushing them crashing to the edge of the pool helping everyone drag her up...

"we need an ambulance" the medical team called pulling her out onto a stretcher , they carried her into the ambulance .... my heart was beating , i was crying .... I stood up and ran to the others who were also crying "we have to go to the hospital" i said dragging spencer's arm running...

Spencer's POV

i kind of figured it out from Alison's reaction something was going on but i left them and followed her to my car getting in and driving as quick as i could to the hospital .....

"Hurry up" Alison repeated crying her eyes out "she'll be okay .... she'll be okay" she muttered to herself looking down wiping her eyes tapping her foot nervously.....

Once we arrived at the hospital we all sprinted into the desk "Emily Fields? she just got admitted...pool injury" i said clarifying to the nurse at reception. Alison was still crying and the nurse pointed to the waiting room "take a seat..." she said...

"TAKE A SEAT?!" Alison said getting frustrated "when can we know what's wrong with her" she said getting loud and impatient... Me and Aria took her hands and lead her to the chairs and sat down with her...

Hanna was stressed out and sat with her feet up on the chair Aria comforting her ..... I sat with Alison's head on my shoulder stroking her hair trying to calm her down a little "she's gonna be okay Ali" i said hugging her tightly also reassuring myself...

Arias POV

A few hours passed ..... Alison had fallen asleep for a while on spencer's shoulder... Hanna started pacing the room. "Hanna please you're making me dizzy" Spencer whispered. "No we don't have any answers it's been 2 and half hours Spence" she said paranoid storming over to the desk...

"Can i help you?" the nurse asked politely...
"CAN YOU HELP ME?!" Hanna said raising her voice causing Alison to wake up and watch Hanna... "My friend has been in surgery what 3 hours almost now and we've had no update .... they best be working their ass' off to save her life!" she said annoyed grabbing attention from other visitors.

"Han" Alison called her eyes watering again.. Hanna heard Alison's voice and could tell she'd annoyed her... I looked down and then back at Hanna walking up to the desk "i'm sorry" i apologised to the receptionist "let's go get some coffee and food" i said takings Hanna's hand dragging her to the cafe with me.

Alison's POV

When i woke up Hanna was screaming at the nurse...Aria took her to the cafe hopefully she'll calm down. I looked up to Spencer and she smiled at me brushing a piece of hair out my face.

"she'll be out soon right?" i asked... Spencer nodded her head "i hope so" she said rubbing her eyes stretching...

Shortly after once Hanna and Aria came back a surgeon appeared into the waiting room "for Ms.Fields" he said ... I was the first to stand up and rush to infront of him "yes..." i said

"your friend?" he just supposed "is in a coma..." at that very moment my heart shattered even more ... i tried holding back tears "we have no idea when she'll wake up but we are guaranteed it's not permanent" he said....

All the other girls sighed in relief  "if you'd all like to see her" he said leading us to her room.... I dragged the chair right up to her side as soon as i entered "thankyou doctor" the girls said smiling a little..

I took her hand in mine and all the girls stood back and let me talk to her "Hey Em.. i don't know if you can hear me? but i'm here .... i don't plan on leaving your side .... your mom and dad got pulled to Texas this morning but i'm here , so is Spence , Aria and Hanna ... i love you em..." i said tearing up .. i kissed her hand and then put my head down onto the bed she was led on...

Emily's POV

i couldn't open my eyes WHAT IS HAPPENING?!?! i can hear Alison ... i want to hug her ..... i want to call her name ..... i want to kiss her ...... i hear her sobbing it breaks me even more... I tried to open my eyes for her .... i tried to ...... i couldnt .... i heard all the other girls and then Alison let go of my hand .

I wanted to shout "where are you going Ali don't leave me" but i heard the nurse say "visiting hours are over..."

It was all quiet from then until the morning when Alison came back on her own... An hour later the girls came back and all spoke to me separately

First it was Spencer
"Hey Em ... You were doing so well you was going to beat your record but then you just stopped" she sighed and then grabbed my hand "you scared us all especially Alison..." she said "she was crying and screaming and crying" she continued "Hanna screamed at the nurse , me and Aria stayed calm for you though Em.." I knew she was crying i heard her sobbing a little .... "you have to pull through" she said ....

Then Aria came
"Hey you..." she said "i miss your voice" she started already crying "we all miss you..... miss seeing you smile and laugh at everything Hanna says... she's hanging in there .... Alison and Hanna are both an emotional wreck right now ..... Alison hasn't slept since it happened" She said "neither have any of us really" she continued ... she wasn't touching me but she was close to me "i'll come see you soon" she said "i need to sort something with Ezra it all blew over" she sighed...

Then Hanna came
"Em hi , i got told you can hear me? if you can you're a bitch and you're never doing swimming again" she said , i knew she was joking and was just annoyed i was in this coma thing... she sighed and then looked at me "once you're out of this place we're staying in the barn at spencer's and having good times like we used to..." she said holding my hand squeezing it tightly "i miss you so much" she said crying a little "i love you and Ali really wants to see you so i'm going to go now okay?" she said kissing my cheek....

i could feel everything - literally everything , i just couldn't move or talk!! my eyes wouldn't open....

Alison Came In
"hey beautiful" she said pulling my hand to hers "i really really miss you... and kissing your lips" she laughed a little "you know you're really killing me here" she said "i've had way too many coffee's ....and they're not decaf" she said , i wanted to squeeze her hand but i couldn't at all ... my hand wouldn't move "i love you emily fields" she said "please come round soon.... i want to hug you but it's not the same as you hugging me back....i'll see you soon i promise ... the girls are forcing me to go home and rest...."

After Alison the room was silent ... until the nurses came and did checkups
