Sterek - Stiles and Derek

*Warning: Might trigger something (Don't read if you have a problem with grieving or drinking or (not really child abuse) child abuse). It also has swearing in. if you don't like, don't read.

None of the characters in the pack have died (Allison, Erica, Boyd, Aiden and Hayden (I think that is it?)) and none of the characters left (Isaac, Cora, Kira, Jackson and Ethan).

Derek and Scott are alphas (because Derek managed to get his eyes back somehow).

*Stiles POV*

Today was the anniversary of my mother's death. Normally, Scott and I would go round my house and look after my dad, making sure he doesn't drink to much and put him to bed. We were currently at Derek's loft, with the entire pack, watching a movie. Thoughts of my mother flew through my head and my eyes started to tear up.

"Stiles, what's wrong?" Derek asked me politely.

"Let it go, Derek!" Scott yelled, knowing that I didn't want to talk about it. He was the only one who knew that today was her anniversary.

"Stiles, what's wrong?" Derek repeated, growling in his alpha voice.

Scott's phone started to ring, giving me an opportunity to run into the kitchen. I could hear Derek behind me so I ran faster, hoping that I could shut the door before he got in the room. My plan failed. Derek was now staring at me with his alpha eyes, walking towards me. I stumbled back until I hit the back of the counter. I swore under my breath. I was going to get out of it by being my sarcastic self but my plan failed again. I moved my arm to gesture my point and managed to cut it with a kitchen knife. I screamed. Then I swore under my breath again. Derek immediately reached for a bandage in the bottom draw. After that, he grabbed my bleeding arm and wrapped it around the wound. Derek tried to take the pain away but I dodged his attempt. He sighed.

"Stiles, what is wrong?" Derek growled. If I was a werewolf, his power would have commanded me to tell him by now.

"Go away," I hissed.

"Answer my question first," He replied.

Scott ran into the doorway, looking at me like something terrible had happened. He spotted my arm and the expression on his face changed with concern. He then shook his head and went back to his previous expression. My tense body started to relax because I knew my problems were going to be pathetic compared to his. That meant that Derek might leave me alone in order to help him.

"My mum just call," Scott explained, "She said that my dad has been shot."

I gasped and Derek looked at the ground.

"He is in the hospital. Stiles, can you come with me?" He asked.

There was no chance me denying that request. One, it got me out of this conversation with Derek; two, I would never leave my best friend in a situation like that. I nodded my head.

"I'll sort out something for tonight," He announced.

It hit me like a rock. He wasn't going to be there to look after my dad. Inside, I knew I couldn't help him by myself. I would just end up doing exactly what we tried to avoid with him. And then, he would blame me. My own father would blame me for my mother's death. That was the trigger, I couldn't hold my tears from flowing. I didn't care what my best friend and my secret crush (that nobody knew about) would think of me.

"Come on, Liam's gonna drive," Scott softly encouraged.

I followed him to my jeep.
