I woke up to the most annoying sound ever. The dreaded alarm. I felt around on my bedside table for my phone to press snooze for the third time. I guess I better get ready for school. I slowly slip out of bed into the frosty morning air and turn my light on to reveal my dull bedroom. There's hardly any colour in my room, I guess that's something I have in common with my room. I open my curtains letting the morning sunlight pierce through the window and then go to get ready for the tiring day ahead.
I head downstairs and the smell of my dad's homemade pancakes is lingering through the air. This instantly perks up my mood."Good morning sweet pea," My father says as he passes me a plate of food."Did you sleep ok? I heard you crying last night again," Oh no, he heard me. "Yeah , yeah , I just had a bad dream that's all" I replied nervously. He did one of those looks that all parents do when they know you're lying.I rolled my eyes and sat down to eat my breakfast. Today's gonna be a long day.
After I had finished my pancakes I put the plate in the dishwasher and then put my shoes on " Are you taking me to school today ?" I asked dad as I tied the laces on my checkered vans."Ofcourse sweetpea , let me just put Emi in her car seat," Dad then picked Emi up out of her highchair and headed out of the door to the car. Off to the prison we call school.
