Mckenzie's POV
*RING RING RING RING*
I woke up and pressed the snooze button on the alarm clock. I looked at the time. 8am. I got up and got some clothes and went to the bathroom to change.
After i changed, i went next door and knocked on Conor's door. He opened up and said '' Ready?'' and i said ''yeah. Let's go'' and we went downstairs. We saw dad sleeping asleep on the couch with a few beer bottles on the floor.
"He must've come back drunk again'' Conor whispered
'' Yeah.. Lets go or we'll be late for school'' i whispered back making sure we dont wake him.
We walked out of the house and to school. When we reached, Conor went to hang with his friends and i went with Kaitltyn,my best friend, to our lockers.
'' Hey, do you wanna get a starbucks later? my treat '' Kaitlyn asked
'' Maybe not today Kait, dad's drunk. You know that he would kill me if im not home to make him dinner.'' i replied
'' come on.. who cares what he thinks? we'll just go and grab one and ill walk you home okay?'' she said
'' I'm not sure about this Kait.. I dont want me and Conor to get beaten up by him again just because i'm home late.."
'' pleaseee.. besides, we barely hang out anymore ''
'' fine.. but we'll have to be quick"
'' of course!! yay!! ''
Kaitlyn's POV
'' Fine.. but we'll have to be quick'' Mckenzie said
'' Of course!! yay!!'' i said
I am so glad that Mckenzie agreed to get a Starbucks with me.. We havent hung out for like forever! She's always worried that she'll get Conor and herself abused by their always drunk father. I wish that they could come live with me but their dad would find out and they would get into a ton of trouble and abused. I hate how their father treats them. He doesn't even deserve to have them!
My parents know about this and they try to halp them as much as possible. Their dad is just a sad asshole who cant get over a divorse and takes out the rage, anger and hurt by abusing his children. I mean, who would do this kind of thing? oh yeah. their DAD.
