I in hailed  in the sweet, fresh air that surrounded me. I loved coming up here, to the mountains. It wasn't even the rebellion in the fact that it was a restricted area, it was just the beauty. Of course nobody knew I was up here, but that didn't matter, not to me, not here.
Even though it was custom for the Ardites clan, I did not enjoy fighting, it just seemed so silly to me. To flaunt yourself in a way that would not only hurt others but yourself, it seemed almost barbaric.

But none of that would matter in just a few days. When I start training it would decide where I would go in life, what I would become. The highest ranks tend to become royal protectors, they stand in shiny armour and threaten anyone who comes too close to the palace, they always seem to be jerks! If your not good enough at they end of the first moon than you will be rejected from the system. Usually these people end up merchants. Which isn't bad, we need these people to supply our fabrics and materials. If high enough in the ranks you can choose to either be a soldier in the legants army, who are basically the protectors of the land. Or you can be a knight.

Knights are better than soldiers but you don't get the pleasures of family, unless you retire or are put out of commission due to wounds that you cant recover.
Thats what happened to my father, my mothers a doctor. Thats another branch of professions. But those jobs are boring so I wont get to detailed with them.

It was just about sundown when I finally made my way home. I suspected mother would have dinner cooking and maybe I could help with the serving if I got back in time.
Although when I arrived home i found everyone in their best cloths.
"Mother? What's going on?" I asked stepping into the small kitchen.
"Ah! Flair, I was about to send your brother to fetch you." She smiles while pushing my ginger locks of hair behind my ear. "Go wash and put on your best dress, the lords are hosting a dinner party for all who will be seeing off children to training."
I sigh, another silly event that I am expected to sacrifice my time for. But still I put on my smile and march upstairs to wash and dress.
