Intro

Olivia's P.O.V
Nothing in the world stays the same. It's like every time we turn around we don't recognize the people or things around us. I just never thought that would be my life. I've always had everything planned. I would graduate high school and go to Harvard University. I would study philosophy like my dad. Everything was planned. I had everything together. Until he happened.

6 months ago:

Ringgggg

The last bell rang. I can't believe I finally did it. My last day of high school! I've worked so hard to achieve this. When my mom died last year I thought everything would come crashing down. My dad started drinking and staying out all the time. I never saw him. But one day he came home different. He was happier and laughing more. Each day the fridge became more and more empty. Before long no alcohol was in the house. Now we have planned my future together. College is our next check on the list.

"Are you excited? We are finally done going to this place everyday. Truthfully I think I might miss it." My best friend Tiffany spoke sending me jumping in the air. We've been friends since I can remember. She's always been by my side through thick and thin.

"I don't think I will miss it. I've been dreaming of going to Harvard for forever. So screw this place." I laughed while looking around at the people I will probably never see again. And I still don't like half of them.

Three Hours later:

Clothes scattered all around my room. Some I need and some I'm getting rid of. Unlike every other classmate that is graduating, I am going straight to college. My graduation ceremony is Tomorrow and I leave for College Monday. So I have only 3 days to pack everything I want to bring with me. My dad being the sweetest dad ever said I could leave half my stuff here Incase I need to return home.

"Olivia!!" My dad shouted from down the stairs. "Dinner is almost ready. Can you come set the table?"
I skipped down the stairs slowing down a bit so I wouldn't fall.

"Well dad, are you excited that you'll have to set the table by yourself after Monday?" I joked but feeling a little twinge of reality setting in. He looked up from the bowl of food in his hands and gave a half hearted smile. He knew it was a joke but the both of us knew everything was about to change. I hoped for the better but Mother Nature chose for the worse.
