this story in the neighborhood of freeridge doesn't revolve around the young intelligence of ruby martinez or the carefree yet also paranoid jamal turner, the wild yet supportive jasmine flores, the loss of olivia, the strong willed monse finnie who just wants to keep the crew together or the torn cesar diaz.

this freeridge story revolves around the tough oscar diaz and his love affair with the very girl who has broken him down bit by bit. ana leota, the irresistible force.

this freeridge story began sixteen years ago for oscar. a mere six years old. right when his younger brother cesar was born. sure, the story of his relationship with his younger brother began but also with the love of his life ana who moved to freeridge from new zealand. if it wasn't one thing to completely relocate countries it was another to have planted themselves in freeridge. of all places to move her family chose freeridge. she became the girl next door.

oscar and ana grew up together. they also bonded with mario martinez who was a bit younger than them. they then watched on as cesar and the other younger kids on the block grew up. cesar's loyal friends. cesar seemed to have learned of the concept of loyalty. however, oscar, unlike cesar lost the concept of loyalty.

around about 13 oscar wasn't so present. in school and around ana. it was set in oscar's mind that he wanted to become a santo, he was a bit too young but he wanted so badly to be made. oscar was getting up to no good lowkey. lowkey as he still wanted to look out for cesar whilst their mom was out of it. cesar was about seven, still a child being a child. oscar wanted to grow up. he became too big for his boots at one stage pushing ana away. and lord knows (as well as freeridge) how close oscar and ana were. even to the point it seemed they were destined to be together.

frequently though, over the years they always seemed to be driven towards each other, not just because they're neighbors but obviously because of their history. so let's explore their history, shall we?

before we begin this fic i wanna give oscar a definitive age so imma go with him being 22 in the present, he'd be like 6 years older than cesar and i think with according to the show that seems realistic especially since he did time.
