Still looking at the baby Johnny asked, "Where did it come from?"
"I don't know. But whoever left it, they couldn't have gotten far." Hayden said.
Johnny then walked out of the apartment and headed towards the building's hallway before saying, "Stay there, baby." to the baby and, "Make sure she stays there!" to the guys as he was running to the stairs.
___
"I'm just saying, for a woman who just had a baby, she moves remarkably fast." Johnny said looking out the window.
Walking back over to the guys he added, "How could she just leave her here?"
"Johnny, you gotta calm down, okay? I'm sure she's not even your baby." Carson said trying to be positive.
"Exactly, it could just as easily be your baby, right?" Johnny said still freaking out.
"Not so much, no." Carson said looking at the baby.
"And I've only been in town an hour. I mean, I'm fast, but I'm not that fast." Hayden joked.
Johnny started pacing, "This is not my baby."
Hayden was looking the the things the baby was left with before saying, "Wait, wait, wait! Guys, we got a note. Her name's Emma."
Johnny thought for a second, "I don't know any Emmas."
Hayden looked at him with the 'seriously' facial expression, "The baby's name is Emma."
"Hi, Emma." Hayden said leaning towards the baby in a baby voice.
He leaned up a bit and said, "Hey, Johnny.
Did I ever tell you about that hot waitress I went out with named Emma?""Hayden, focus! The mother." Johnny said raising his voice a bit.
"Oh, yeah." Hayden said picking up the note again.
"Who's the mother?" Johnny added.
"Sorry, um, Angela." Hayden said contining to read.
"Angela!" Carson and Johnny exclaimed in unison.
"Of course. That's right." They said at the same time."
"Who is Angela?" Hayden asked.
"She was nice. Actress." Johnny said remembering.
"That girl was crazy." Carson said.
"Does it say anything else?" Johnny said referring to the note.
"Uh, she's sorry. She didn't know what else to do. And she just needs a little time." Hayden said reading the last bit of the note.
"Time? How much time?!" Johnny asked yelling a bit.
There was another knock on the door.
"And that would be the perfect amount of time." Johnny said running towards the door.
Before he opened it Hayden spoke, "Oh. That's Kenzie. I gave her a call while you were outside."
"Kenzie? Fatpants Ziegler? What's she doing here?" Johnny asked confused.
"You have a friend named Fatpants? Oh, I'm definitely marking my food. No." Carson said shaking his head.
"Kenzie's in law school now. It took her a while. I guess the LSAT's kind of tricky, but trust me, she will know what to do." Hayden answered before Johnny opened the door.
"Kenzie?" Johnny asked looking at her like she was a different person.
"Johnny!" Kenzie said going in for a hug.
"Look at you. You look amazing." Johnny said still in the hug. Letting go he asked, "How did that happen?"
"I may have lost a pound or two." Kenzie said being modest.
"Hundred. You sat on my head and gave me a concussion, remember?" Johnny joked.
Turning around Johnny pointed to Carson, "Car, Kenzie. Kenzie, Carson."
"Hi." Kenzie said waving to Carson. Carson waved back.
"Kenzie grew up across the street from us and used to kick the crap out of Johnny every day of his life." Hayden told Carson, pulling Kenzie in for a hug.
"Oh, and congrats on the law school thing." Johnny told Kenzie.
"Thanks." Kenzie said smiling.
"Don't worry-- I know a bunch of people that had a hard time getting in." Johnny added before turning around to face the baby.
Kenzie took this time to pinch Hayden, "Ow, ow, ow, ow!" Hayden cried.
Still pinching his back Kenzie whispered, "Why did you tell him that?"
The baby started to cry and Johnny put his hands up in defense while leaning up again, "I didn't do anything."
"Oh." Kenzie said taking off her bag and walking towards the baby, Hey. Hey, it's okay, princess." She added crouching down.
Emma started smiling.
The boys were all behind Emma's baby carriage and staring at Kenzie.
"Aren't you gonna pick her up?" Johnny asked pointing to the baby.
"Me?" Kenzie asked getting up. "What, you guys see breasts and instantly think mommy?"
The boys all stared at her with dumb smiles on their faces.
Kenzie looked at them and back at the baby, "Okay, fine."
"Hi. Okay. Come here, angel. Oh. Hi." Kenzie said picking up the baby.
The boys looked amused.
Still carrying the baby she said, "Believe me, I know how scary it is to wake up in a strange place."
Johnny, Hayden and Carson started silently laughing.
"I'm just making conversation." Kenzie remarked.
Looking back at the baby she asked in a baby voice, "Are you hungry? I bet you're hungry, huh? Let's see what you got." She said looking in the baby bag. "Is this all you brought with you? Oh, well, that's okay. We'll just send one of these boys out for provisions and.." Holding the baby up she made a face, "Oh I think somebody needs her diaper changed." She added.
All of the boys looked disinterested in changing a diaper.
"I'll go to the store." Johnny volunteered running towards the door.
"Yeah, I'm going, too." Carson yelled following behind and closing the door behind him.
"No!" Hayden cried holding onto the door.
"Boys are so stupid, aren't they? Yes, they are.
They're so stupid. Yes, they are." Kenzie said in a baby voice to the baby.___
