We'd been ignoring Jordan for quite a while now. I couldn't understand how she could do that to me. I mean, why wouldn't she? We kidnapped her and held her captive in her enemy's base. Of course she would never want to see my face again. I was so stupid. So fucking stupid. I let my feelings get in the way.

I had been avoiding her longer than the others. They wanted answers, but I just wanted to give her what she asked for. We had taken all power that she had, so I gave her the choice that she wanted. We were about to head out for another meeting with someone when there was a sudden gunshot.

"Sirs! It's the Black Pythons!" Bailey came into the room, panting and at a loss for air. Watching Bailey disappear again, we all ran over to the sofa, ducking down to hide behind it.

My first thought went to Jordan, but not because I was worried about her, she was in the locked room downstairs. My first thought went to her because that little fucking bitch knew. I was certain of it. Before I could say anything to the boys, we had to duck behind the sofa as gunfire started ricocheting around the room.

After trying to defend for a while, we were starting run out of ammo before someone spoke and then everything went quiet.

Looking over the edge of the sofa, we all saw Jordan standing there. She was facing away from us as we all started yelling at her.

Someone else, that she referred to as Kyle, came up with blood dripping from a wound he was trying to cover. Jordan knocked him down with ease, grabbing his gun before he could shoot.

Watching her hold the gun at him, I didn't expect her to do anything, I didn't think she had it in her. She couldn't bring herself to stab Zach any higher than she had and everyone else was only unconscious.

Hearing the gun fire, I knew what she had done. The gun dropping to the ground, I knew she had gone into immediate shock and the all the boys could do was start arguing whether to shoot her or not for being the enemy.

It was three against one, Zach trying to defend her for helping us. Hearing Jordan tell everyone to just hurry up and shoot her snapped something inside of me. Seeing the tears in her eyes I stood up.

"Guns down! For now, she is one of us! We can deal with her properly later!" As soon as the boys lowered their guns, we all ducked down, seeing Tyson walk in. Not having time to warn Jordan, Tyson's gun went off.

There was a loud thud, of someone hitting the ground, before Tyson starting walking and speaking.

Hearing Tyson's words, I realised that he had shot Jordan. My heart sunk because I couldn't even run out to help her yet. As soon as I looked at the gun in my hand, it was as if my mind just shut off. Aiming the gun at him, I pulled the trigger.

I was shocked at the fact that he hadn't tried to take us down, but I didn't care. I immediately ran out to Jordan, putting my hand over the wound, I applied pressure, trying to stop it from bleeding. I knew that it wouldn't completely stop so long as the bullet remained, but I couldn't do anything about it.

"Jordan? Jordan?! Please stay with me!" The others ran around the sofa, coming to kneel down next to me.

"You have to get her to the hospital Jo; we've got your back." I looked up at Jack as he spoke, my heart breaking as I looked back down at her. Why did I have to love her? With a slight nod, I picked her up, carrying her out of the room, in my arms.

The boys surrounded me as I walked, not letting anyone come near us. Tears falling from my eyes as I carried her to one of the cars.

"Are you guys sure you can handle everything?" I didn't want to leave them alone to deal with this shit. Gaining a quick nod from all of them, I started the engine and took off.

Pulling up at the hospital, I went straight to the back of the car and got her out. Walking inside, everyone looked at me. The tears in my eyes refusing to cease as I looked up.

"She's dying! What are you fucking waiting for?! You can see she's fucking dying! Help her!" My voice cracked multiple times as I yelled at everyone, waiting for someone to fucking move.

Finally having someone take her from my arms, I didn't want to leave her. I wanted to make sure she was ok. I wanted to be there for her, but I knew I had to leave. Watching them take her into surgery, I walked over to the reception desk.

"Can I please have a piece of paper and a pen?" My tears breaking my words every now and then. With a small nod, the receptionist handed me what I asked for and waited for me to return the pen. Writing a note for Jordan, I read it to myself multiple times, making sure it was right.

Jordan, you're free. The boys and I are ok, for now. Don't worry about us. No one is watching you; no one is there to bring you back. You're free Jordan.

Handing the pen back to the woman, I pulled the golden chain out of my pocket. Having picked it up, after finding it broken, I got it repaired and was going to give it back to her. That was until she tried to escape, but it's hers, so she's getting it back.

I wrapped the chain in a tissue, folding the note under it and handing them both to the receptionist.

"If... when Jordan Whittle gets out of surgery and wakes up, can you please make sure she gets these?" I wiped the tears off my cheeks as she nodded kindly.

The loss of a pet is a pain felt like no other. That pet becomes your best friend, only to pass after what seems like a life too short. So, what if that loss is of a human? Someone who deep down has become more than a friend? Someone who's life was unjustly ended too soon?

I had no guarantee on whether Jordan was going to be ok or not. The only thing I had left was my hope.
