Ok guys so here I am again dropping a short story.
I own no rights to these characters nor do I own the picture I used for my book cover.
I hope you guys enjoy and please leave some feed back. It's always great to hear what y'all think.
P. S - Pretend the girl in my book cover has purple eyes

"Follow me Overlander."  Luxa spoke as she passed me up.

Standing near her doorway I waited until she was a step ahead of me to leave the room behind her.
We left Christopher, an important member of the royal guard, behind. Of course I got a glare from the angered man.
Quite honestly I knew where he was coming from. It was about 2pm down here in the Underland and Luxa needed as much protection as she could get. It's true that Regalia has been in peace for a while now but that doesn't stop crazy angered citizens from trying to attack their Queen.  There was always someone willing to start a rally.

Not to mention the rumors going around. There is so much talk about Luxa and I being together..... Together in a romantic way.  I'm not going to say that the rumors are true but I can't have them speculate any more than they already are.
So I took my chances and spoke up to the queen while we were on our way to , well where ever she was taking me.

"Permission to speak my Queen?" I said as I bowed down , lowering my gaze to the ground.
There were eyes and ears everywhere. I had to maintain formality as much as possible.

Annoyed at his sudden disturbance, Luxa stopped in her tracts and spun herself around, causing her lavender strapless dress to swing in midair. She was quiet for a moment. Crossing her arms over her chest, I could feel her starring  at my back, burning  holes through my armor with her gaze.
I could tell that she was debating wether or not she should let me speak but it was uncommon for me to request anything while we were walking to a location. So after a while she gave in to her own curiosity.

"Granted." She said with a very expected sour tone to her voice.

Straightening myself out, towering over her,  I looked into her violet eyes.
Clearing my throat I spoke.
"Must we not turn back and have Christopher accompany us?

She gave me a quizzical look.
"It's best for you, my Queen, to be guarded by two while we move throughout the palace."

Smirking she said "Are you not fully equipped to protect me on your own? Because I had thought that you were the best one I had. Or did I make a mistake when I assigned you as the head of my Royal Guard?"

Clenching my jaw and containing an eye roll, I bowed down again.
" Of course not. You and I know that I will  protect you with all that I have and all that I am. I can handle anything on my own. My only wish is to keep you safe. Traveling with two is always better than one my Queen."

Again my gaze was lowered to the ground and I could only see her lavender dress slightly touching the floor. Now that she has been Queen for a couple of years, her attire is now mostly consistent. Being only long beautiful gown dresses.

"Straighten up Overlander."  She said.

I obeyed and stood tall in front of her.
"There is no need to worry. We will not be going far. But I expect you to be fully alert in case anything out of the ordinary should occur."

As I bowed slightly and watched her resume her rather fast pace to her desired location , I couldn't help but feel disappointed.
Luxa always thought she knew best but I knew that us going alone with so many speculating eyes around us, will not turn out well. But at last I had to follow directions. So I forced my feet to follow along behind her.
