When faced with a detention Ja'far always took the punishment with stride.
What he didn't expect, however, was the purple haired flirt to be sitting in the back row with a bored expression.
Though the expression turned into one of excitement and amusement at seeing the white haired teen.
There was no one else in detention that afternoon. Just the two of them. Sadly.
Ja'far made it a point to sit in the front row without looking back. He probably should have because the scrap of a chair beside him caused him to frown.
"So, what's a goody-two-shoes like you doing in detention?" Came a question.
"None of your concern." Ja'far side eyed him, "I'm guessing you got caught with your pants around your ankles in the locker room."
"Ouch, I see you're not a fan of me~" Sinbad gave a laugh, "no, I save that stuff for off school grounds." He winked.
Ja'far only rolled his eyes in response before opening his notebook and started to write down some mental notes he meant to do earlier.
He heaved a heavy sigh as he felt Sinbad's eyes watching him, "Can I help you?" He asked impatiently.
"Yeah, why are you here?" Sinbad asked, a grin on his face.
Ja'far turned his head to finally meet Sinbad's eyes properly, "I tell you what, I'll tell you why I'm here if you promise to leave me alone."
"Deal."
"I said fuck off too loudly for the teacher's liking."
Sinbad laughed heartily, "oh my god, that's amazing." He smirked, "I'm not leaving you alone. I lied."
"Oh for heavens sake," Ja'far groaned as his palm connected to his forehead.
The purple haired teen didn't get to say anything as the teacher entered the room, "Sorry for this, but I have to leave for an hour meeting, can you two behave yourselves while I'm gone?" She asked, her eyes were desperate but her tone was calm.
"Of course, no need to worry," Sinbad gave his signature wink causing her to look a bit startled before she smiled and left the room.
Ja'far snorted, "isn't flirting with teachers a taboo?" He taunted, eyes focused on his notebook.
"Hm. Yes, but I was just being my normal charming self," Sinbad glanced at Ja'far's writing before he casually reached over and grabbed it.
"Wha- hey! Give that back!" Ja'far was red in anger, which caused his freckles to brighten.
Sinbad caught himself staring a little too long at Ja'far's angry face before he quickly glanced to the notebook. He hummed, "whats this? It looks interesting." And it was. There were notes about a story. A story of dungeons, magicians, the open sea...
Ja'far huffed and crossed his arms, obviously upset that his notebook was being read without his permission, but his eyes softened, "you think it's interesting...?"
"Yeah! I mean, all I can see are notes but there's a lot here," Sinbad skimmed the pages, "none of them have names?" He was referring to the characters that somewhat had their backgrounds written.
Ja'far's face started to turn red for a different reason, "did you... want to know more?"
Sinbad smiled warmly at Ja'far's change in demeanor. He was a grump, sure, but he also seemed shy under it all, "I would love to know more."
"Well, it's a story written in the point of view of an ex assassin, one whom killed as a child until he were ten. He faced many trials such as killing his own parents at the age of six. He saw the world only in black and red, darkness and blood, until he came across a young man not too much older that changed his life forever. The two become close and they travel the seas in search of the fabled dungeons and with the help of their friends they will create the greatest kingdom known to man." He went on to explain the basic back stories of the characters but he also explained he couldn't figure out good enough names or personality traits, only the assassin had his personality all figured out and Sinbad had a hunch that all the insecurities and sadness the assassin felt... was based on Ja'far.
"Ooh, what if the future king is named Sinbad?" Sinbad suggested, only teasing with that twinkle in his eyes.
Ja'far frowned and was about to tell him off, but then he pondered. "Sinbad of the Seven Seas... I like it. Your kingdom shall also be named Sindria." He commented calmly as he started to doodle a rough sketch of Sinbad but in Ja'far's Sindrian clothing ideas.
Sinbad blinked in surprise before he grinned, "then you have to be the assassin, Ja'far, King Sinbad's most trustworthy Advisor." He stated.
Ja'far rolled his eyes, "I can't be."
"Yes you can, that's the only way I'll let you use my name and face."
"... fine."
The two spent the next hour, talking and discussing Ja'far's book, Sinbad enjoying every minute. Especially the small smile that graced the silver haired male's face.
