Chapter 4: Blade to Blade

Author: Sorry for the long wait. Could not get back to writing the story. Don't give up on me.

Ninferno woke up the sound of his alarm. As he went to turn it off, Spyro immediately hit snooze. Ninferno started getting ready for his first day. He went to go wake Spyro up.

Ninferno: Hey, Spyro. Wake up!

Spyro(sleep talking): It's okay Hon. It'll be fun... Zzz

Ninferno: WAKE UP!!!

Spyro slowly got up and rubbed his eyes. When he saw Ninferno he started panicking and flew out of the room.

Ninferno: Okay, that's weird.

Ninferno went down to the kitchen for breakfast. Spyro wasn't there when he got there. He saw a big, red rock creature cooking pancakes for Pop Fizz Stealth Elf, and some large bird with a backpack.

Ninferno: Who are you?

Eruptor: I'm Eruptor. And who are you?

Stealth Elf: It's okay Eruptor. It's the new cadet that we told you about. He moved in with us.

Ninferno: The names's Ninferno. Nice to meet ya.

Jet Vac: Pleasure to meet you. I'm Jet Vac, your new teacher.

They all ate breakfast and chatted. They then went to the academy. The class that day was led by Stealth Elf.

Stealth Elf: Today we are going to learn about combat using your weapons. Swords, daggers, and maces are useful for hand to hand combat. Bows and magical scepters are best used at a far range to do damage to your opponent, while staying out of danger. You will each take turns to try and take me out. But be warned, I will fight back.

Everyone each went one by one and tryed to take Stealth Elf down. They were all easily taken out. Ninferno was the last one left to fight.

Ninferno: Alright, let's do this!

He pulled out his sword and got into fighting stance. His sword immediately lit on fire. Stealth Elf charged at him with her blades. He easily deflected her move, but then she disappeared with a pop. Remembering their first encounter, he turned around and pushed her back as she popped back.

Stealth Elf: Your pretty good at this.

Ninferno blushed at the comment. Stealth Elf used that opportunity to strike him, and after another few attacks, took him out.

Ninferno: Nicely played.

He held his hand out for her to shake. As she grabbed his hand, he swung her around and pinned her down.

Ninferno: But never let your guard down.

Stealth Elf: You're one to talk.

Ninferno helped her back up. Stealth Elf started giving the cadets a pep talk and went over a few more lessons, but Ninferno was hardly focusing. At the End of the day he went back home and started to write in his diary. Little did he know, Spyro was watching from the ceiling.
