Suddenly I heard it. It was coming from the other side of the passage. Constantly hearing this unknown sound each and every night. The repetitive sound of feet scurrying across the ground.
Moving into this new house, I wanted to start anew. No more nightmares, no more night scares. This noise was unbearable, hearing it at every crim and corner of the house. It had gone on too long.
I needed to investigate!
Taking out my phone, a source of light, I crept down the corridor to get rid of my fright. Carefully opening the front door, I left my house.Which wasn't amongst others but singled out within the woods.
I pointed my phone towards the passage getting closer and closer to the noise. I stopped. Looking back at my house contemplating my decision. Wanting to go back and hide myself in my warm fluffy blanket but needing to find out what was keeping me awake at night.
I gathered myself and proceeded into the woods. The passage wasn't clear;it hadn't been used in a while. As I ruffled through the leaves trying to get through, the noises came to a hault. Fear began to fill my entire body.
I froze
Not being able to move, not being able to speak. I just stood there. The last thing I saw was a bright light beaming on the other side of the passage.
Waking up in a dark secluded area, I saw a pair of red devilish eyes starring at me. It was dark. I couldn't see a thing. I felt a hand on my arm pulling me into the light. Those red eyes continued to glow even in the presence of light.
It was a person....but not just any person....it was me?!!
I was shocked, I was terrified, not knowing what to do. This person was me, but then again it...wasn't. I fixed my gaze on the red devilish eyes. They seemed to be piercing into mine. Turning around, I was about to run but I couldn't. Out of nowhere a wall appeared. I tried to go the other way but I was trapped.
It was toying with my mind.
Four giant walls surrounded us both. The space became tighter and tighter to the point where we were inches apart. Practically merging into one.
It began to smile... "There are two sides to every human and you are your own nightmare".
I quivered and hesitated, screaming until I fell to the ground. I woke up again but this time I was home, in my room, on my bed, my warm fluffy blanket wrapped around my body and the sun shining through my window. I was confused, not knowing what had just happened to me.
"W-was it a nightmare?... Or was it real?"
