*set in episode 3x21 Prom Night*
Alice wasn't sure about chaperoning at riverdale highs prom, considering how she and Betty left things the last time she saw her. Alice decided to go and show Betty that the farm hasn't taken her away from her. She asked Edgar to go with her and he agreed to meet her there later, so at Alice walked into the dance alone......but she wouldn't be alone for long.
FP decided to go to the Prom to make sure that his son and everyone else there would be safe and any threats of G&G to be stopped. He wasn't expecting to see Alice and have his breath taken away by her the second she walked in through the door.
Alice noticed FP on the other side of the gym right away and immediately looked away from him. She was still hurt over how he ended things with her and how easy it was for him to forget about her and go back to his wife. So she had also decided to move on...with Edgar. She liked Edgar and spending time with him but he wasn't FP and she didn't love him the way she loved FP. Regardless, when Edgar proposed she accepted; not because she loved him but she realized that there's no longer a future for her and FP so why shouldn't she move on when he already had.
FP hasn't stopped thinking about Alice since they broke up. He wishes he had told her he loves her and that he always will. He wanted to tell her that the only reason he was going back to Gladys is to make his kids happy not him happy. Being with alice is what makes him happy and he realizes he ruined that in the worst possible way........by breaking her heart. He's wanted to go to the farm and take her back and tell her how much he loves her and that she's the one he wants ,the one he's always wanted; but he couldn't, not with all the chaos riverdales been in lately and all the danger his kids are currently in. But he wasn't just worried about his kids safety, he was worried Alice's and the thought of anything ever happening to her terrified him. He's called her a few times since she moved to the farm to check on her but she just ignores all his calls; he couldn't blame her tho, he knows he broke her heart and hates himself for that. The look on her face that night in his office when they ended things absolutely broke him, it took everything in him not run after her and wrap his arms around her and tell her loves her and never let her go. But he didn't and he's regretted it every day since.
Alice walks over to Kevin to talk to him about some farm related event until she hears someone clear his throat behind her, immediately getting attention. She turns around and sees FP.
Alice: "can I help you FP?"
*Fp couldn't help but stare, he'd missed her so much and couldn't ignore how rapidly his heart started beating at the sight of her*
FP: "you look beautiful Alice"
*alice rolls her eyes*
Alice: "that's what you came over here to tell me?"
FP: "no....I-I miss you Al and-....."
*alice puts her hand up and interrupts him*
Alice: "stop........don't say that to me.....not when you don't mean it"
*she starts to walk away, but FP grabs her hand to stop her from leaving and that's when he sees it.....the ring on her finger...*
*FPs looking down at her hand and asks, "Alice what is this?"*
*alice pulls her hand away from him and looks at him in the eyes coldly, "not that it's any of your business but it's an engagement ring"
FP: "a what?! Engagement ring? From who? No don't tell me.....Edgar."
Alice nods: "yes....Edgar and I are engaged"
FP shakes his head and looks down at the floor,angry at this point: "you have got to be kidding me alice, no way!"
Alice: "no way what?"
FP steps closer to her,making her breath hitch just by having him so close: "there is no way I am going to let you marry that man"
Alice crosses her arms: "let me?! Who do you think you are FP Jones, that you think you could tell me what to do!!"
FP: "I'm a man that is so in love with you and wants to protect you from making a huge mistake!"
Alice laughs and shakes her head: "cut the crap FP....you don't love me, you never did, all you love about me is the sex and once you got that you walked away from me and right back to your wife"
*FP grabs her hand and takes her out of the dance and into the hallway and pushes her up against the wall and leans in: "how in the hell could you possibly think that?! I love you Alice, I've loved you since we were kids in this hallway 20 years ago,I fell more and more in love with you when we started seeing each other again and my heart broke into a million pieces that night when I so stupidly ended this with you"*he turns around and steps away from her a little*
*alice is still against the wall, speechless from what FP just told her*
Alice: "FP-"
FP: "no alice I need you to know you are everything to me, I've never loved anyone as much as I love you, I love you Alice Smith"
*he cups her face with his hands and looks into her eyes"
*alice starts to tear up: "FP I love you too....(he kisses her passionately and she kisses him back and they go on like that for awhile until Alice pulls back and says: "but I can't do this with you again because every time I let myself fall for you, you end up breaking my heart and I can't take that pain anymore FP, I just can't"
*Alice tries to walk away from him but FP pulls her into a hug and whispers in her ear: "I can't lose you again Al,please give me a chance to make things right with you"
*alice pulls back and kisses him on the cheek and says: "I'm sorry I can't" and walks back into the dance leaving FP standing there watching as she leaves him...........
