ADITYA'S POV

I opened the file quite unwillingly, I didn't want to dig the past, but, it was necessary for protecting myself and Zoya.

The file clearly stated that Waseem Siddiqui was present on the spot of the accident.

"Zoya...", she stood at the door almost at the verge of breaking down

looking at her face I understood she had definitely known something she shouldn't have.

I stood up, went to her and held her hand...her hands were trembling...

"Zoya...", I called her again, her eyes that were looking into mine welled up this time.

"andar aao...baitho", making her sit on the bed, I knelt down in front of her holding her hands in mine

she slowly raised her hand and ran her fingers on the cut marks that were still present on my face, and I knew that probably the truth was out, still keeping myself strong because I knew she would need me, I asked,

"Zoya, kya baat hai?", my voice already shaky

She rested her hand on my cheek and spoke up,

"abbu ne kiya...abbu ne...", she couldn't complete her sentence, she choked, tears ran down wetting her cheeks

"Zoya...", I couldn't speak, basically I didn't know how to tell her the truth

"sach...sach bataiye hume please", she pleaded wanting to know the truth of her own father

that very moment I decided to tell her everything because, hidden truths are the most dangerous, and she being his daughter deserves to know the truth more than me.

"Zoya...I'm sorry maine tumhare abbu ke khilaf detective lagwaya par uss din jo baatein unhone mujhse kahi uske baad sach janna bohot zaroori tha...Zoya woh mera accident uss din...", I couldn't  complete the sentence, averting my eyes from her's I rubbed off the single tear that had escaped looking at her devastated face

"abbu ne marne ki koshish ki thi", she completed the sentence in a shaky voice, I could see the emotions in her eyes slowly flowing down with the tears...this time damage would be very deep I knew

She intently listened to everything that had happened between me and her abbu and also about his presence on the accident spot...after I completed, her face softened...

"tumhe kaise pata chala?"

"phone pe...phone...abbu baat kar rahe the...hum toh maafi mangne gaye the...par...", she sobbed as she said those words...I knew how she felt at this moment, because I've also been through this situation...I sat beside her on the bed and hugged her, that is what she needed

enough of control, the moment I hugged her she broke down and cried loudly, I didn't stop her neither did I try to give her any false hope, because, I knew nothing of that sort could reduce the pain she felt right now. I've been fighting with these demons of truth since last three months but still have nightmares of Ma's confession...I knew how hard the situation is for her.

"kyun...kyun kiya unhone aisa...kyun...hum unse itna pyaar karte hai...the, fir kyun...yeh sab humare ghar mein hota raha hum samajh hi nahi paaye kaise...kaise hum samajh...", she clenched onto my shirt as she cried it out, I kept caressing her hair, holding her tight in my arms.

After sometime I could feel her sobs turned into heavy breaths, then holding her straight, cupping her face I kissed her forehead assuring her that no matter what I will always hold her hand firmly in mine.

---

"Marcus, mera aur ma'am ka breakfast kamre mein bhijwa do", ordering him I came back to her, she was sitting on the bed quietly...I sat beside her and took her hand from her lap and interlocked our fingers, she looked at the hands and then looked at me and gave a faint smile.
