Everything was like a blur.
One moment everything was completely fine and then the next everything was completely out of control. You remember diving to the floor as you was shoved away from the windows. A body coming over top of you to shield you from whatever it was that was blasting through the windows.
Sound of glass shattering as crackling thunder filled the air. And then it went dead silent. Someone grabbed you and you were brought to your feet. Being dragged away from a building and in a adrenalin rush high. You almost couldn't see straight as you was being led toward a vehicle and being shoved inside.
The next thing you remember was sitting in a chair beside a table, your mind finally coming to focus as it pieced together every little detail that had happened...
And then your remembered.
You had went to Pop's that night making your usual delivery when instead of going in like normal, you were stopped suddenly in the middle of the street. Your eyes wide as some man stood in your way.
"You can't be here."
He told you. You were startled and confused for a moment. And that's when you saw him. The man in the shades.
"What the hell is she doing here?"
You heard him ask the other man that had just rolled up on Pop's doorstep. The other man shook his head as if he was suppose to know what you were doing here. You helped the basket of Baked Goods close to you. Realizing that now was not a good time for you to make your delivery that your grandmother had baked for both Pops and Luke.
"Run along little girl. You're in the wrong neighborhood anyhow."
He said eyeing you up and down as if you were a piece of meat. You narrowed your eyes and looked up at the man disgusted. Nearly ten years of handling assholes out in Charming didn't faze you with this man that blocked your way.
"How about you move before I make you move?"
You snapped back, causing the other two to hear you. The man standing before you laughed, he must have found that rather funny.
"White girl's got bite to her huh? Maybe I should put your little crackerjack ass into place?"
He said coming a bit closer to you, you still refusing to back down.
"Enough!"
The voice snapped from behind the man. The two of you turned around to see Shades standing there.
"Get back."
He ordered the man. He gave you one last look before he walked away. You watched him leave till your view was obscured by the man in the shades.
"You need to get lost."
He said, his voice deep and threatening. You scrowled wrinkling your nose at him. You had to admit, he may have looked like Juice, but he was definitely not anything like the man you once loved.
"What are you doing in front of Pop's?"
Your question only caused him to step forward. He wore his shades even in the dark making you wonder how the hell he could see anything at night.
"I ain't tell you again. Get the hell out of here. Run back home, kid. I'm afraid you'll be late."
He told you. That instantly pissed you off. You took a step to the side and around him as you made your way toward the store front. Whatever they were planning wasn't good.
"I'm taking things into my own hands!"
You heard someone yell out as they passed in front of you, making you stop dead in your tracks when you seen the semiautomatic being pulled from their coat.
After that everything seemed to be slow motion. You being grabbed from behind as you were thrown back and to the ground, being placed in the car, and now ending up here in this darkened room sitting at the table.
"Y/N?"
The voice snapped, causing you to blink and see the man with the glasses looking at you. You looked at him, recalling the events that happened tonight. Pop's place had got shot up by the man with that gun.
The same place that had you left your grandmother's house ten minutes earlier as planned you would have been in the cross hairs of the bullets. You let out a shaken breath as you shook your head and looked over at the man. He was just looking at you from behind the glasses. Those damn glasses angered you so fucking much.
"Take them off."
You grolwed. When he didn't move or reply it only cause you to fill with much more rage than before.
"Take them off you son of a bitch!"
You screamed this time, slamming your hand down on the table as you gave him a look that could have killed him. He sat there for a moment longer before he raised his hand and grabbed the side of his shades. Slolwy he pulled them away and you felt your heart stop beating at that moment.
It was Juan Carlos Ortiz.
