When a certain event happens after a happy one, people would call it calm before the storm.

I certainly hoped that it wouldn't happen to me, but the universe loves to play it's trick.

That day after the beach I knew I had to buy a ring and find my time proposing to Matilda and I knew where exactly to propose.

Friday night at the bar where we met this is the perfect place to tie up everything since this is where it all started.

I told Matilda to dress up as tonight is a special evening for the two of us, where we will tie everything up.

I picked her up at her house and brought her a bouquet of red roses, what awed me is that she is wearing the same red dress the night we met; maybe this is another sign for us to get married.

We go to our usual spot and ordered the usual, but with the ambiance and vibes different between the two of us as Matilda told me she has a big news.

As the night when on our conversation flows well and as she leaves for the rest room, leaving me time to prepare for my proposal.

I fidget it out of my suit and hold it under the table waiting for Matilda to go out.

Once she got out I signaled out the crew to cue the music and everything.

Once she was seated I asked her the question and got to my knees, "From the moment you walked into this bar everyone's eyes and attention were focused on you, but no one dared to talk with you and I was sitting over somewhere thinking that the universe won't give me a proper woman to marry; I must make my own way of finding the right woman for me. The moment that we talked and I walked you home that evening instead of spending the night at my place, I spent my evening at yours. From every fights and adventures that we've gone to, from what I have to what I can give to you, I want to spend the rest of my waking hours and every day with you Matilda. Will you marry me?"

Everyone was waiting for an answer; I was confident that she will say yes.

Well the universe has one more plot twist.

She looked into the ring then into my eyes and said, "Oh Sonny you've been nothing but good to me all throughout our relationship, I'm afraid that I will have to say no darling."

I lost all my senses at the word no, how could she?

I have been nothing but good to her, so I asked her, "Matilda why? Why are you doing this to me?"

She held my hand and said, "Sonny I have gotten the lead part for the movie and they want to start soon, so I am not ready for the serious commitment, I am so sorry darling."

She ran to the door leaving me sitting at the floor in awe.

I order whiskey and the night was all blurry all throughout.
