I smoothed out my skirt to suppress my anger. "What do you want me to do?" I asked.
"I am ordering you to leave. As your senior, and teacher for eight years, this is too much education for one woman to hold in her brain! Leave, now." Professor Thorn sighed. "You've been a great student, but eight years in college isn't done! You cannot get any more schooling on history, mythology, and technology. Try math or science!"
"Ugh. Do I have to leave?" I frowned.
"Yes. I'm sorry, dear." The solemn Professor hugged me. "I will miss you."
"I'll try to visit, sir." I sniffed.
"I know you will, child."
"Goodbye, sir." I sighed.
"Farewell, Leena. You've been a very good student." The Professor smiled.
I walked out, skirt swishing, and walked down to my favorite coffee shop for some cheer-me-up coffee. As I walked into the shop, the barista greeted me with a wink, and I smiled back. I could tell that the barista, whose name was Sam, had a crush on me. I just didn't have the same feelings, though. I ordered an Irish Coffee, which surprised Sam. "Bad day?" The girl asked.
"You don't even know."
"I get off at three, maybe we can talk then." Sam smiled
"Maybe..." Once my name was called, I picked up my coffee and sat down. The bit of whiskey in the brew gave me a slight jolt of energy, but I didn't feel it. With ADHD, it is hard to feel any other energy than the energy you already have. I sighed, and took another sip. Right when I put the cup down, an old man strode up to me. "Hello. I am looking for someone who would like to be a Librarian." The man said.
"Woah woah woah. A librarian? Like, books and everything?" I asked, stunned.
"Yes. Books and... everything." The way the man said everything made my brain go a mile a second. What did that mean? Did that even have a deeper meaning? Was I just thinking too much?
"Okay. First, I want to see if you're trying to human traffic me or something. Uh... are you?"
"No. Never! My name is Jenkins, if that helps any. The door to the Library is right here, if you would like." I knew that he was most likely going to start a human trafficking business, but a tiny voice in my brain told me to follow him. So I did. And boy, were there more books than I could ever, EVER imagine. And even better than books, artifacts. Tons of them. I knew this was going to be fun.
