Chapter 9

I layed in the sun for a while beside Cali and Gabe as the others went swimming more. I had taken off my bikini dress so I wouldn't have terribly weird markings on my body from a tan or sunburn.

My not-so-pale skin gaining a little more colour. The suns kiss on my body. I was so relaxed.

I let out a small yawn, stretching and turned to lay on my stomach.

I heard Gabe sit up, then one of his fingers glide across one of the deep mark's on my back, I slightly flinched feeling his finger on it at first.

"Some of these are fresh Dawn," Gabe breathed. Cali got up.

"You're right, they do look fresher then the others," Cali spoke.

"When was the last time they did this to you?" Gabe spoke, I knew he was going to get heated soon.

I rolled over and sat up with them.

"Was it before you came here? Was that one of the reasons you ran?" Cali asked.

I shook my head yes. Gabriel looked away upset. His facial features darkening, his face turning a little more red. Then looked at Cali. Mind speaking.

I cross my arms upset.

Finally after a moment of mind speaking they finally realised that I don't like it when they speak to eachother and I can't hear.

"Sorry," Cali looked at me getting the hint.

I nodded my head, playing with my fingers.

"Hey Cali.. Hey Gabriel," a women,  she looked about 19 walked up to us. She gave Gabriel a flirtatious stare and smiled. She was small, and curvy.

Instantly my eyes narrowed at her, I grabbed Gabes hand and he turned to me smiling.

"What do you want Rune?" Cali looked at her mad.

Rune had short blue hair, obviously dyed. She was tall. Almost bone and I was almost bone. She had brown, almost black eyes.

"Can't I just say hi?" She smiled, then finally noticed me, "hi, I'm Rune," she holds out her hand.

I put my hand in hers, my anger boiling. "Her name is Dawn," Gabe put his hand on my back smiling at me, and only looking at me.

His hand gave me goosebumps up my back. I eased. His eyes never leaving my direction.

She smiled at Gabe who wasn't even paying attention to her. "I'm glad you're doing charity work now, she's really come around. What are you guys going to do with her now? Throw her back into the wild like the rogue she is," Rune sneered.

Gabriel got up at this, veins popping his muscles ready to puncture the plastic and silicon in her boobs.

I stand up as well putting my hand on Gabe. I don't know why I did it, but it calmed him down. I felt like I needed to.

He looked down at me, I shook my head no. He relaxed.

Cali stood up, "you're petty Rune. Very petty."

"Is that all you can come up with?" Rune chuckled.

"That's all I'm allowing myself to do," Calis hands turned into fists as she looked at Rune dead in the eyes.

"Well dawn," Rune bends down to face me, Gabe stiffens, "I know your father," she says aloud, I start to shake. "Well, toodle-loo," Rune waves, "see you guys later."

Who even says toodle-loo anymore? "We won't let your father get you," Gabe speaks.

Layla and Leo walk up to us, "hey what was that? It looked heated between Rune and you guys?" Leo asked.

"None of your business," Cali looked at Leo.

"She was just being a BiTc-" Gabe was saying until someone lifts up Gabe and throws him into the water.

Cali rolls her eyes and sighs, "that's Spartan, he's our cousin. From a different pack but were still related," Cali sneered.

I chuckle, "yeah, Spartan," Layla blushes looking at him and Gabe rustle in the water.

By now it was about 7 o'clock some of the pack left by supper time but it was still pretty crowded.

I looked over at Gabriel who looked at me with content as Layla and I swung on the swings together.

A black car pulls up loudly and angrily and I stop and run over to Gabe along with Layla.

And out storms.

My father.

I shake while clinging onto Gabe from behind hiding myself from my father.

In the blink of and eye Leo scoops me up into his arms and runs into the woods. Cali following.

My heart raced, is Gabe going to be okay? My head hurt, tears ran down my face.
