Regina couldn't believe she was awake this early. It was currently 6am and Regina was sitting at her kitchen table, enjoying a hot, refreshing coffee, imagining what life would be like with her daughter. Her beautiful, sassy daughter. With all the commotion going on with reuniting with her daughter she hasn't had a moment to her self in days. She hasn't been able to really think about the fact that Margie's father was gone, no not gone, dead. Robin wasn't just gone and coming back, he was dead, his soul was obliterated there's no way for him to come back. Just the thinking about her soulmate sent tears to her eyes, but wanting to stay positive on what should be a joyous day, she pushed the depressing thoughts away and brought her mind back to Margret. She still couldn't wrap her head around calling her Margie, but she had to start getting used to the nick name her daughter gave herself. She had a feeling if she slipped up, Margie would be mad.
By the time Regina returned to reality, as well as finish her coffee, it was 6:30. She knew she should have left at six to make she was there in time, but she decided to have a coffee and just take some time to relax. She got up from her seat at the table and took her coffee mug with her. After washing it out she placed it in the dish washer and then got ready to leave. She put on her stiletto heels, grabbed her keys and walked out of the house, locking the door behind her.
Hours later Margie woke up from her not so peaceful slumber. When she first fell asleep she had peaceful dreams about what life would be like with Regina , but soon her dreams turned to nightmares.
Nightmares about her past and about her future. While she was excited to finally meet her parents, she was still nervous. By the time Margie had given up on sleep it was about 9:45. She was able to sleep in because she didn't need to go to school and she could've slept in more if it weren't for the scarring nightmares. She decided to just skip breakfast and hop in the shower.
After her boiling hot shower she put on her 'car ride outfit', consisting of black leggings, a random t shirt, and her favorite sweatshirt. By now its 10:30, she decides to go get some coffee seeing as she had very little peaceful sleep and was exhausted. When she arrives in the kitchen she is greeted with the inviting sent of coffee and bacon.
"Good morning," Emily greeted still facing the stove cooking the sizzling bacon.
"Morning," Margie replied, not really in the mood to talk. She heads over to the already filled pot of hot coffee, pouring herself a cup, then adding a ton of milk and sugar.
"Okay, I have bacon cooking right now, what else would you like?" Emily asked cheerily.
"Just some toast please."
"Sounds like a plan,"Emily replied opening the loaf of bread and putting two prices in the toaster.
Once Margie finished her meal, cleaned up, and thanked Emily, she went back to her room. When she got to her room she decided to be unproductive and watch tv on her phone.
Three episodes of her favorite tv show later she looked at the clock and realized Regina was going to be at the house any minute, and she still had last minute packing to do. As she grabbed her phone charger, toiletries, and some other random things, she heard a knock at the door. Knowing exactly who it was she rushed to put her things in her bag and fix her hair and put on a bit of makeup. Seconds after finishing her hair, she heard a knock at her door.
"I'll be in right out," she called, hoping she could have another few minutes to do some makeup. She knew she was just going to be spending the day in the car, going to wherever her new home would be but she couldn't help but feel the need to impress her mother.
After applying some light makeup she walked out of her room to be greeted by the two women sitting at the counter top having some coffee. "Hey," Margie said, not knowing what else to say.
The women both turn at the sound of the young girls voice. As soon as Regina sees her daughter a huge smile appears on her face but leaves when she notices how alike her daughter a Robin look.
Meanwhile, Margie notices how her mother's smile fell. She couldn't help but feel like she somehow upset her mother. She couldn't figure out why though.
"Are you ready to go?" Regina asks wanting to get on the road.
"Yeah. I just need to put my boxes in your car," Margie responds strongly, remembering that she needs to put up her walls.
"Okay, I can help," Regina offered.
"I'll help too," Emily chimed in as the women stood up and all headed to Margie's room.
Once all of Margie's belongings were packed in the car it was time to say goodbye. "Thank you, Emily. For everything you've done for me."
"Oh, of course sweetie. Anything for you."
As they say their goodbyes Regina stays back, letting them say goodbye.
"Please tell everyone I said goodbye," Margie said thinking of Emily's husband and child.
"Oh I will. I know they're going to miss you too."
"Thanks," She said as she went to give the women a hug. She had been with Emily for a few months now, and while she still kept her distance about most things, she felt a little more comfortable with letting her walls down around her. It was going to take awhile before she was able to feel one hundred percent comfortable around anyone, but she felt okay around Emily. When she let go of Emily she turned around and walked to where Regina was waiting. Once they met up they both walked to her car together.
By the time they got onto the highway Margie was already asleep, she had a tiring day and not much sleep the night before, so her falling asleep was inevitable. Regina couldn't help but glance at her beautiful daughter sleeping in the seat of her car. All she could think when looking at Margie was Robin. Maybe this was how his legacy was going to live on, through his own daughter.
