Clarke's POV

I opened my eyes and all I could see was brightness. I didn't recognize my surroundings, and for a moment I freaked out. I turned around and see a guy sleeping naked on the floor besides me, and memories from yesterday start coming back.

I'm never drinking again, goddamn tequila. At least that's what I told myself, but I knew that's not a promise to be kept.

I wrapped a blanket that I found on the floor and picked my phone, I saw the hour, 7:43am. Well shit. Shit. Shit. I stood up ready to go get a shower because I'm so freaking late for work. I should be starting at 8:00 today, and being late is not the best impression you could give on your first day.

Who the hell is this guy anyway, his name was... Uh...

"Hey, why don't you come back and we continue where we left of last night?" my thoughts were interrupted by his words

"Look uh..." I stared at him blankly trying to remember his name.

"Finn."

"Riight. Finn. Well you see Finn, I'm pretty late for work, so I'm gonna go to my room to take a shower and when I come back you won't be here. So uh goodbye."

Somehow he managed to put his pants on and reaches for my hand.

"Well I hope to see you around Clarke."

I awkwardly shake his hand and head to my room, trying to escape this embarrassing situation. To be honest, this is not something I do; get drunk bring a guy and black out in my living room naked with him. I guess I just needed some distraction, its been a week since I came back to LA and it has been pretty rough.

I glance up at my phone while I get out of my car, 8:13am. Fuck. I ran to the LA Polis Hospital as fast as I can. I get to the surgery wing and go straight to the interns lockers room; I know this hospital like the back of my hand.

"You're late Griffin."

"Sorry Nyko." Nyko smiles at me. I haven't seen him in a while.

"Guess you already know but I'm your resident in charge."

I smile at him, I really am grateful. Nyko's a good friend. I remember when I was in High School and he was in Med School and he came sometimes with his friend Lincoln to help with the free clinic. The clinic was an idea of my mom, its still there tanks to the donations from wealthy people, and has helped a lot of people.

"OK. Griffin, Blake, Jordan, Monroe, McIntyre, you're with me. Change clothes, meet me outside in 5." Nyko said

I look for a locker my name and I barely put my things inside when I feel someone push me from behind. I turn around and get engulfed in hug.

"You stupid ass! Being late on your first day, way to go Griff."

"Hey O, good to see you too. Did I miss something?" While we talked we started changing into our scrubs.

"Yeah the whole pep talk from Dr. Sinclair."

"He said that the next seven years will be the best and the worst of our lives, right?"

"Yup. And I'm pretty sure you know that speech by heart. Anyway why the fuck were you late? And don't tell me it was because you didn't want to hear Sinclair's speech." She said, and I just sigh; I know she is not going to let go until I give her an answer.

"Griffin, Blake why are you taking so long?" Nyko says from the outside of the lockers room

"Comiiiiing." I respond and roll my eyes.

"Yo you know the dude? Let me remind you that he's our resident and can turn our lives in hell if he wants to."

"Chill O, he's a friend. Well, we better get going."

"Oh no. You're not getting out of this conversation so easily."

"What conversation?" I smirk at her as I exit the lockers room.

"You are so dead Griff."

"Hello" Nyko says to all 5 of us, "I'm doctor Trigeda and Ill be your babysitter for the next year. There are going to be rules, and if you don't want any trouble with me, then youll do as I say. Rule number one; never question your superior. Rule number two; phones, always have them in hand, nurses will call you and you need to be available at all times and ready to answer..."

I started drifting from reality because I already know all the rules, I mean being here is nothing new. I really missed this place. It's been 8 years since I left to do my Bachelor's Degree and then Med School, I couldn't stay, it was all to painful. A year before I left, my dad was in a car accident and didn't survived. Everything here reminded me of him. Before his death we were all happy, I spent all of my afternoons in the hospital learning from my mom and her colleagues, I had a lot of friends amongst nurses. When I came home my dad was there with dinner ready, and when my mom had night shifts we would watch a movie until I fell asleep and he would carry me to my room. I smiled at that memory.

"Griffin?" Nyko said to me.

"Sorry what?"

"Golden rule?"

"Dont bother sucking up we are already a pain in the ass."

He nodded and was going to say something when he received a call.

"OK be there in 30 secs." He said trough the phone and hung up. "OK, last rule; when I move, you move. We have an incoming trauma; this is going to be an interesting day."

I smirked at that thought, my first day as intern and already having something good.

We ran to the ER and went outside to receive the patient in the ambulance.

" What've we got?" Nyko asks.

" 25 year old female was at a fire. ID lost en route. Possible pneumothorax, roof collapsed on top of her and there is a metal piece stuck in her back, possible injure in her low spinal cord." The paramedic says.

"Get her to trauma room 1. OK people," he turned to see us "what do we do?"

"First release the pressure on her lungs with a chest tube and page Neuro for the spinal injury."

"Good Griffin." Nyko turns to a nurse, "Page Dr. Griffin."

Some of the interns seem confused at the names, except Octavia who just looks amused by the situation; these guys are going to meet my mom, the goddess of Neuro.

Nyko starts with the chest tube and I just look at the girl, her face is so familiar. Octavia seems to realize the same thing, and I murmur "Raven" out of breath.
