[Kiyotaka's POV]
By the time we got home, the sun had fully set.
I still felt uneasy from going so fast on Mondo's bike, not no mention we were way over the speed limit. But now we are home, and I feel safe, as long as I'm with him. I sat back down on the couch, and Mondo flopped down besides me.
Picking up the remote and flicking through the few channels on our television, he finally stopped on a movie that airs every week at this time. He set it back down and moved closer to me on the couch. I shuffled closer too him, and rested my head on his chest. I closed my eyes and smiled. "Goodnight bro." I whispered.
"Good night." Mondo replied, before he let out a long sigh. Sensing something was wrong, I looked up at his conflicted face.
"Hey Bro.... What's wrong?"
No response.
The room flooded with silence, with nothing but the sound of our breathing and the quiet talking coming from the television.
"Bro. That's all I'll ever be to you."
"W-what do you mean?"
Mondo looked down towards me and let out another long sigh.
"Sorry. I'm just pathetic, aren't I? I feel so weak, so useless. I'm nothing but a bad influence on this world. I'm a bad influence on you."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Mondo Owada, the strongest person I know, the law breaker, the tough biker. Was this really what he thought of himself?
"What?! Don't say that. You are ama-"
"Amazing. Yeah yeah, I knew you were going to say that. Despite how I might act, I'm just a sack of shit. A fucking loser. An outcast. And I feel bad about it every single day of my life. I've made you feel bad, I've made you cry, I'm pathetic.
Hell, I've even fallen in love with you."
We both froze. The room was silent.
Mondo's eyes widened as his face turned crimson red when he realised what he just told me. I could feel my face heating up, and my heart starting beating faster. I couldn't believe it. I could not believe it.
"You.. what? Me? Really?"
"SHUT UP! I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING! LEAVE ME ALONE!" Snapped back Mondo, turning his head away from me. Mondo covered his face with his hands, but it didn't hide anything. He was clearly so flustered, but so was I. We sat there in silence for what felt like an eternity.
"Me too...." I whispered after I had unclogged the air stuck in my throat.
"I... I love you too."
Mondo turned his head around and lowered his hands. I saw that he had been crying. Tears were streaming down his cheeks, and he had a look of sorrow and regret on his face.
"I'm sorry. Now I've made you cry." I said to him, looking sadly into his eyes.
"No. I did this to myself. I overreacted, even though I know you could never love me.
"....."
"But I do."
Yet again, the room fell dead silent.
"I-I.. I do love you. I'm in love with you. I love you more than anything else."
Mondo stayed silent, and before I could say anything, he had leaned in towards me, and our lips touched. His lips felt good against mine. I put my hands delicately on his chest and as if in reply, he wrapped his arms around my body and pulled me close up against his. Finally, I felt at peace. I really felt like this wasn't 'wrong' any more. It felt so right. Being pressed up against him, our lips delicately touching, just being here with him.
It all felt so right. I wanted this moment to last forever, no matter what. We eventually pulled away from each other and I stared into his eyes. Upon realising what we had just done, we suddenly pushed ourselves away from each other and blushed notably more than we had ever before. I leaned back towards Mondo, and lay on top of him. He reached for my hand and clasped it tight in his, and we snuggled up together.
"You're adorable, y'know that?" Mondo said to me as I continued to bury myself in his chest.
"I uhhh... thank you, I-" stuttering, mondo chuckled and closed his eyes.
"Thanks. I love you." I whispered to him.
"I love you too."
