Even though I don’t own the original writing and still after giving all credit to the anonymous author, with all due respect, I’ve added a little modest touch of mine in the writing.

Hope you all enjoy. My words may not be that much beautiful, but the meaning is beautiful that the word itself.

Once upon a time, surrounded by water from every direction, there used to lay a little green island where inseparably resided Bliss, Sorrow, Wisdom and others along with Love.

One day it came to the residents’ knowledge that their home, the little green island will be sunk under the water like an unfortunate ship struck by tornado. In the face of adversity, everyone did all they could to escape nature’s wrath and built boats to save themselves; caring less than nothing for one another.

Others made their boats and left the green island, the only one remained was Love. “Let’s last till the very end” thought Love.

The end was near and it was time for Love’s departure. But Love didn’t have a boat ready itself, it couldn’t leave alone.

Rowing fast on its boat, Wealth passed near Love. “Will you take me with you?” called out Love. “How do I take you? Can’t you see every nook and corner of my boat is filled with all the glittery – gold? There isn’t any space for you to even set a foot”, and with that excuse Wealth went out of sight.

Arrogance was next and Love called out again “Will you take me with you?”. “No! Not at all! How weird moist, wet and sticky is your body, you will ruin my boat! Not gonna take you at any cost!” and with those harsh words there Arrogance went away.

Sorrow answered with tears “I’m too much of a burden even for myself; I can’t help myself from all my misery. How will I save you?” and that boat left too.

Bliss and Happiness were so pre – occupied in themselves already that Love’s plea didn’t even reach their ears.

Suddenly from the middle of all that hurdle, reached Love’s ears a soft voice, “Come here Love, I will take you in my boat”. An old man leaned forward and with his shaking hands he invited Love on-board. Love was so overjoyed at his kindness and couldn’t hide the tremendous joy. So much occupied by elation, Love forgot to know the Old man’s name.

The boat reached the land, and the Old man walked away shaking his head in getting lost in his own thoughts. Love looked around and found an Old Lady, Wisdom standing on the shore and asked her “Who is he? The one who took me here?”.

Time” answered Wisdom.

Time? Love stared Wisdom with immense amazement all over the face. Mildly smiled Wisdom, lifted her head and looked in Love’s eyes, finally she said “Only Time knows the real value of Love”.

The End.
