She taught him how to fight, to love the cold, and a weird striping habit. Gray tried to go after the person who killed his parents when he was 12. Ul found him half dead and barely awake. She knew he was too strong. She grabbed the mafia leader and jumped into the sea with him. His 'brother' constantly blamed him and left him. Eventually he found Ultear, Ul's 'dead' daughter and her adopted daughter, Meredy.  He lived with them until Ultear went to the bank one day and a robery took place. Ultear stopped the gunmen but was killed in the end. She was always a vigilante because of things she did in her past. She always said it was to repay her sin.

He and his sister were thrown around in the foster care system. He always found ways to take care of Juvia. One day he was adopted by a good couple that loved him and had money. The only problem was that they only wanted Gajeel, not Juvia. He fought for Juvia but couldn't win. He blames himself and now she goes to the same school.  I really don't think he knows that.

All I know about Laxus is that his grandfather takes care of him because his father didn't want him. Jellal's past was never shared. All I know is that he lives off on his own. Now with maids and servents he is supported by his inheritance.
