Erasure is the quirk of Mr. Aizawa or Eraserhead. Shouta Aizawa. Erasure as an emitter type quirk that allows Aizawa to prevent use of a quirk simply by gazing at them, he wears his goggles so his opponents can't tell where he's looking, meaning the quirk is emitted from Aizawa's eyes. The only quirk I know that it can't cancel out, however, would be mutant type quirks. Erasure can also erase multiple targets' quirks at a single time. And for some unknown reason, his hair stands while using the quirk. But right now we are going to determine how it travels through the air and what happens when it hits a target, how does it actually erase the quirk? We will be going into as much detail as we can. Assuming the emitted quirk is considered an electro-magnetic wave. Since the emission source is his pupils, an organ meant to receive or take in electro-magnetic radiation and make sense of it. Perhaps his quirk allows his eyes to generate it as well, seeing as how cats can make their eyes glow, the radiation or light emitting from his eyes could make his eyes glow red as well. Seeing as normally people can't do that, making it a possibility for part of the quirk. However nobody else seems to talk about how his eyes glow, so that might just be for the viewers. But the sun emits electro-magnetic light or energy, it was measured on the spectrum scale as red itself, the same type of energy/light/radiation that is supposedly coming from Aizawa's eyes.

The text above is the picture of a google result when I looked up what color electro-magnetic light was, it talks about the sun's energy as being RED. The same color as Aizawa's eyes when emitting that type of radiation. This also makes sense as when he blinks, his eyelids cut the wave off as it can't reach the opponent anymore. By this logic, when he looks into a reflective surface, it would bounce off, possibly hitting another person, erasing their quirk. But how does it actually ERASE the quirk? Perhaps it has something to do with it getting into the target's brain, as the brain might have something to do with the use of quirks. The wave can hit the skin and cause an electric signal between the skin and the nerves, which then send a signal to the brain. And how big is the line of sight area? Seeing as he can affect multiple people at once, it isn't just a straight line. It has area. But how far does that go?
