Somehow, you will understand. Do not doubt it.. but you will understand. By the end of this book you will officially understand what it is like to have depression. This story starts off in a small town in Massachusetts, USA, with a character named Chase O’Sullivan. Now back in time, Chase was only in 4th grade when this story starts. You will officially see him blossom and turn into the awkward young man he is today in the 6th grade. Chase has a mother named Christi, and a sister named Mikayla. His father went off somewhere, so Chase doesn’t have a father figure in his family. Right now, this story takes place at Fall View Elementary School in a small town.

“Okay Jennette. I told you, the answer can’t be 498, because 98 x 98 is 9,604.” Chase O’Sullivan told his best friend Jennette. Chase was a smart kid. He knew what was wrong, and how to fix it in school. But his grades never showed it. It was now the end of the 4th grade school year, so Chase didn’t really know what was coming towards his way with bullies, and all the other drama that would occur in his life. Jennette then corrected herself with a short sigh, and she said “OH yes! I get it now. Okay, so do you want to hang out this weekend?” Jennette said. Chase had to think for a moment. Then he quickly realized that she was his only friend and that he obviously has no friends. “Yeah, sure.. but it would have to be at your house, because my mom has to clean the house.” Chase said. “Okay.” Jennette said.
After school, Chase told his mother that he was going to Jennette’s house. He rode his bike over, and they sat in her kitchen. “Chase, I have a question..” Jennette said, as if their was something she was hiding him. “Have you ever gotten bullied?” Jennette said. “No, and I don’t want to. Except this 5th grader stares at me like I have something wrong with me.” Chase said. “Oh.. well good.” Jennette said. After that conversation, they hung out and posted pictures on their Instagram. On a picture Chase had revealed his Kik. Kik is a text messaging app. Everybody started texting him.. Asking him what it was like to be best friends with Jennette, and stuff like that.
One night, after school during the summer, Chase got a text. And Chase didn’t know what would happen next.
