My mother and father were having a lovely conversation when the first bomb dropped, straight through the reform and floors. Of course, we didn't know it was a bomb until our parents went downstairs to the basement, to see what had happened.

My brother Pietro grabbed me and pulled me under the bed, just before the first bomb exploded.

Another bomb dropped. This time, it landed right in front of our faces, with one word on it, in bold white letters: STARK.

Me and Pietro hugged each other tightly, fearing that this would be how we spent our last few moments together.

For three days we laid under that bed, starving, waiting for the bomb to explode in our faces.

It never did.

"Again!" Madame B yelled. "You will never get better if you do not push yourself!"

Some of the girls groaned, and some kept their mouths shut and did as they were told.

Madame B glared at the girls who complained. "Вы хотите быть избранным ГИДРА, или вы хотите быть убитым вместо этого?" (Do you want to be chosen by HYDRA, or do you want to be killed instead?) That made the other girls stop complaining, and put on a fake face.

" Ну что ты ожидал? Если вы снова будете жаловаться на выполнение балетной программы, вы не можете быть здесь ГИДРА не берет слабых. Они хотят только бойцов, а остальные будут избавлены." (Well what did you expect? If you are going to be complaining about doing a ballet routine again, you aren't fit to be here. HYDRA doesn't take the weak. They want only the fighters, and the rest of you will be disposed of.)

The rest of the day, we danced better than we ever had before. In the middle of a routine, a girl stopped dancing and sat down. Madame B looked at her as if she were a bug, and two men with a stretcher came in and took her away.

Quote:

"She is free in her wildness, she is a wanderess, a drop of free water. She knows nothing of borders and cares nothing for rules or customs. 'Time' for her isn't something to fight against. Her life flows clean, with passion, like fresh water."
