Regret. Guilt. Broken.
Those were feelings that a certain young man never wished for specially after hearing the passing of one, Noriaki Kakyoin. The thought of ever having someone that close gone never went through Jotaro's thoughts but that's when Kakyoin came in and changed that. Ever since their first meeting, ever since their fight, Jotaro started to feel a little bit of happiness and respect towards Kakyoin, he felt like Kakyoin was someone close to him, someone he needed by his side, someone he could say he loved and respected a lot. But now all those thoughts were wiped away from Jotaro.
Jotaro looked up towards the sky before muttering under his breath the words, "Yare yare daze.." His expression was unpredictable so no one knew if he was sad or happy or disappointed in anything but Kakyoin, he was the only one who could see through his emotions and stayed by Jotaro's side no matter what, Jotaro knew that. Jotaro knew that too well that Kakyoin saw through it, he just couldn't say so as the others would have suspicion on it.
Gosh, Jotaro missed that smile of Kakyoin's, he missed it. He missed having him under his arm, he missed his best friend, he missed having those bro moments with him, he missed everything about Noriaki Kakyoin but at this point he couldn't even show those emotions or thoughts on what he missed or what he loved the most about Kakyoin. He had to be brave about it. About everything that has happened to them as a whole.
"It's time, huh." Jotaro looked over to see his gramps over there, waiting for him, his eyes were stern and serious as he glanced to the side before muttering, "There's no need to give me that stupid look, gramps. It's annoying." Joseph couldn't think of a response that was right for the current situation, he knew everything about losing a friend, he has done it before and regrets every single bit of it. He regrets even thinking about the previous events that happened to him, he wished it was only a dream for both him and Jotaro but in truth, this was reality. This was the harsh reality.
Jotaro eventually started to approach the older man, giving him his usual stare to wards him, "We got too work to do to think about these events, gramps." he was fed up on the atmosphere and wanted to leave already, he wanted to leave this behind. He was ready for another journey back home to his mother, his happy and smiling mother. He wanted to make sure that mistakes like this will never happen again. Never happen again.
It has been roughly a few hours since the confirmation that Noriaki Kakyoin has died in a tragic accident, that was something most people said about it but for some, that wasn't the case, it was something more than that and those only consist of three people which were Jotaro, Polnareff and Joseph. But those thoughts didn't matter to the public as they would not believe a single word that would come out of their mouth as it could be seen as "wrong" that the three of them didn't "do" anything to help or try to prevent the events to happen.
"I need a smoke." That was the first sentence in a few hours he said towards his mother, obviously his mother and Joseph was okay with this considering on what happened with everyone in Egypt and life in general, it was a pain for Jotaro for this current time. "Go ahead, sweetie! Make sure you're safe when doing so!" Holly chimed as she smiled at her son, she felt the need to lay off the male for a bit. "I don't need your approval, woman. I was already going to do it." After saying those words, Jotaro made his way outside for his smoke and to think about things that he needed to get of his chest. "Tch, if only he wasn't so attach to me, this would of never happened. Though, nothing will change even if I wished for it. Nothing will change the consequences." Jotaro sighed before exhaling the smoke, he needed this. He needed a little break from everything that happened.
Placing his free hand into his pocket, he brought out a photo that they took in Egypt, this definitely brought back memories, good and bad memories to be exact. He smiled while looking at it, but his smile was faint and not noticeable by anyone who would see him. It was a smile that he wanted to keep hidden from everyone but Noriaki Kakyoin. The only man that has seen him smile throughout the journey they once had. A journey that will always be in Jotaro's memories, a memory that will always be known as a broken one. Something that most would have in their lives at one point, a memory that was something that cannot be changed. Something that will be scarred was something of what Jotaro was experiencing as of now.
Jotaro slowly closed his eyes, trying his best to forget everything that has happened to him but what he didn't know was that Joseph and Holly was keeping a close eye on him to make sure he was okay and not thinking too hard on this. Specially Joseph, who was someone who had something similar like this happen to him once and that was something he wishes to forget even on this day but it never happens. It never happens.
[ Writer's note: Hiro here! I'm hoping you have enjoyed the first part of this fanfiction and I promise it will definitely get better, and I hope you're willing to stay in touch for the next part as I cannot wait to see what Jotaro's reaction is going to be!! Stay tuned and I apologise for a sad start! (^ω^) ]
