In the first book, CHALLENGES, you meet the five Forester brothers. You learn their parents died and how the eldest boys raised the family. Lori is the youngest and Challenges focuses on her, her eldest brothers, Brad and Frank, raised her from the age of five years old. I posted ten chapters of this book to give you a good idea of the family. You will also meet the antagonist who is a 'fun-to-hate' character who is the proverbial thorn in Lori's side.
Layers Deep focuses on Frank and Sarah, who he briefly meets in the first book. She was invited to their ranch by Lori. Not only does Frank want to court her, he comes to escort her to their ranch. When he arrives to get her, he learns there are many things he doesn't know about her. This why I gave the book the title of Layers Deep.
Frank's brother, Jacob, is so fast with a gun that the Texas Rangers ask him for his help to catch outlaws holding up the stages. It is while he is on the stage that he meets Taylor, a young girl Lori's age. Her life is a shambles and only headed for more disappointments. To help her out, he offers her a job at the ranch since she's good with horses. The problem is, she's cute, and he likes her.
Once again you will meet the entire family and be in the middle of the problems and challenges they face. I'm hoping it will give you as much pleasure as Challenges did.
