These will just be gems that I found are interesting and could possibly be used in a story title. I'll try to explain why they caught my eye and not use common or stereotypical gems. Btw, I literally just searched these up on the internet and used the things that came up the most for the meanings.
1. Pietersite - Also called the "Tempest Stone", it is usually a mix of grey or blue with red, gold, or orange. The colors of the stone seem to swirl together, hence it's name of the "Tempest Stone". It allegedly inspires change and helps break bad habits, as well as instilling confidence in people, particularly with their creativity.
2. Tanzanite - A very pure dark blue to violet/purplish blue gem. It alledgedly soothes and calms people, allowing for better communication, as well as helping people tap into their psychic powers. This is apparently due to it's purple to blueish coloring. **dunno how much I buy into that but it could be good for a story
3. Rutile - Also called "Angel Hair", they are black to reddish brown needles that form inside of other gems. They often appear gold or yellow and strand-like hence the name "Angel Hair". It allegedly helps calm the mind, leading to emotional healing. As they form in other gems, it is said that they enhance the properties of the gema they form in.
4. Gem Silica - One of the rarest and most valuable varieties of chalcedony. It is very smooth and has a glassy look, as well as being a very bright blueish green seafoam color. Their coloring is due to copper deposites around the gem. Like other chalcedonies, Gem Silica also form in geodes in small stalactites **I love these because they look like shells with crystals within them, nevermind that it's supposed to be from space
5. Cavansite - A bright blue gem which often forms in clusters on stone or other gems/minerals. It has a very pure coloration but is relatively rare since it's usually pretty small. It can also form as Pentagonite which is even more rare and has an unusual shape which looks like it could be five fold symmetry. Cavansite apparently has a warm and heartfelt feel which helps with meditation and raising your spirit/energy. **I personally like these since they look like little corals, especially when it's rough
6. Tourmaline - One of the most colorful gems, it comes in a variety of colors but commonly appears in pink, red, green, blue, or a mix. While it is often referred to as a single gem, it is actually a group of minerals which include Elbaite, Schorl, Dravite, Liddicoatite, and many more. Elbaite is the most colorful though, and is usually the cause of the variety of colors in Tourmaline. Tourmaline has varying uses depending on the color.
