(Short chapter sorry guys and girls, don't hate me xc )
[Your POV]
I was having a dream about a chair made of two large slabs of rocks and a lady was sitting in it wearing all white when something came down and grabbed her in the blink of an eye all that was left was the white cloak she had on. Hyakkimaru was eaten by the same monster. I wake up to a concerned Dororo and a bored Hyakkimaru
"it was just a dream" I sigh
"you ok onee-san?" Dororo sits next to me
"yeah just bad dreams" I smile at the cute little girl. the sun comes up and we started walking through a canyon.
"eww it smells like rotten eggs" Dororo groaned covering his nose
"it does" I say covering my nose with my sleeve and looking over at Hyakkimaru
"doesn't it bother you? can you even smell?" Dororo complains to Hyakki. I look over to see a young girl sitting on a platform as a group of men carry it
"wow a bridal parade. but.. something doesn't seem right." Doro says staring at the people
"t-that girl.." I mumble
"hm? what about her?" Dororo looks up at me seeing my bulging eyes
"she's.. she's going to die...." I mumble as my body shakes
A boy with a coyote skin over his head and down his back slides down the mountain lands next to us and shoots at the men but misses. He aims again but Dororo stands in front of him
"Hey stop that!"
"outta my way!"
"No! I wont let you shoot arrows at a happy bride! what's wrong with you?" Dororo holds his arms out
the boy laughs then glares at Dororo "a happy bride? yeah right! Big sis is being sent off to marry a monster."
"to marry a monster?"
"so I gotta stop 'em" the boy shouts at Dororo as he tries to step around Doro "beat it! Or I'll shoot you too!"
"calm your horses, tell me more about it" Dororo smiles and puts his hand to the boys chest "we know a thing or two about beating monsters."
He shows us the village from the mountain "that's it"
"A cloud right over the village. That's the monster?" Dororo looks at the village
"yes, Big sis told me. People call it Nokosaregumo, it shows up every once in a while to eat people in the village. One time the villagers offered a bride to keep it from eating the others. Then it left without killing any more. Ever since, they offered a bride every time it comes. If they don't feed it, it will get mad and eat up the entire village." The boy frowned as he told us the story
"it's a monster but it wants a human bride? And a lot of them too?" Dororo questions
"Sis said it probably ate them all.." He said with a sad tone
"I'll never understand how a monster thinks. So your big sis was chosen this time, huh?" Dororo said putting his hands on the back of his head.
"I've got to help her. I don't want her to be eaten up." he said clenching his fist
"we can help you there." Dororo smirks "this guy here has beaten up lots of monsters, he can beat it for you." he chuckles pointing to Hyakkimaru
"....Dororo..." I frown and look at him with a dark aura around me
"ehehe... " he giggles nervously as I step toward him "AHHH!!!!" he screams
A while goes by as Dororo and the boy start talking
"I'm Dororo." He grins holding out his hand
"and I'm Saru." He grabs Dororo's hand
"Saru? Like a monkey? that's funny." Dororo picks on him
(Saru means Monkey in Japanese for the people who didn't know)
"Dororo is a funny name too" Saru smirks. they continue to fight about the names as Hyakkimaru and I look at the cloud
"this ones gonna be a drag" I frown.
