When I was younger my family was perfect. We were lively and pleasant, and blessed with a beautiful family. A family that was whole.
But I'm not younger anymore. I'm older. And my family is certainly not perfect, We moped around, and we were not very pleasant. We were blessed with a beautiful family, But that family was no longer whole.
WE LIVED IN Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, and every third Thursday we went to the farmers market. Paige saw a painting that she really liked. The guy thast was selling it looked sketchy, but Paige was not shy. She went right up to him and asked him how much the painting was.
"How much do you want it?" He asked her
"This much" She replied while indicating with her hands just how much she wanted it.
"That's a lot," The man said. "Since you want it so much you can have it for free." A huge smile crept across Paige's face."Thank you!" She screamed at him. He chuckled and told her not to worry.
As soon as we got home she ran into the house and chose were she was going to put the painting. She decided on above the mantle piece. I always thought that we needed to put something above the Mantlepiece, there was already a hook to hang it on. Paige was so excited that she got a chair and put it up herself. I liked it. It was like it was destined to go there. Like the artist knew Paige would like it and put it above the mantlepiece.
Paige was obsessed with the painting for about a week. After that it was like it had always been there, like it was something that you would have found in the house when it was first built. However I couldn't get the painting out of my mind. It intigued me, I was confused to as why the man just gave it away. It was an original piece by Aaran Watson. An artist from the 17th century, Aaran Watson was born in Scottland but moved to Australia when he was 16. He died when he was 38 in a flood that also killed most of his family. He was a Transcendalist (Someone who is accused of practising satanic rights) and honestly that scared me.
(OKAY JUST LETTING YOU KNOW THAT I HATE IT WHEN WRITERS SAY 9 YERAS LATER ECT. BUT YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE ME BECAUSE I JUST YEAH.)
2 YEARS LATER
Paige was starting to get very sick. I didn't think any thing of it It was almost two years since Paige had gotten the painting and put it above the Mantle Piece.
THE WARNINGS STARTED flooding in on Tuesday the 18th of July, 10 days away from Paiges 15th birthday.
