Chapter 10

The six of them decided to go on a holiday together to a town by the beach and stay in a villa to make the most of seeing each other. Reina booked it online and they all agreed to go. Zjef just wanted to experience a foreign beach, because his stay in the country so far had been in their urban town.

The villa they would be staying in had four bedrooms so Shawn and Claire would share, Fiona and Jack would share, and Reina and Zjef would have their own. Fiona's older sister had a minivan that she borrowed for the weekend and at 11am on Saturday, the first day after they broke up from school, she pulled up outside Shawn and Claire's apartment building honking the horn.

"Looks like our rides here," Shawn chuckled, hearing Reina's 'signal' from the car park. She wanted to drive because she liked being in control, of the music mainly.

"I can't wait!" Claire said excitedly, she was glad that school was over and there was nothing more exciting than a mini holiday with her friends.

They packed the night before, it was only for a few nights so they just packed minimal clothes, swimming stuff and necessities. Which for Shawn, meant his guitar obviously, because Fiona and Jack wanted to hear him play on the beach. It was a tradition that the five of them, before Claire had met them, would travel somewhere and get drunk listening to Shawn's music. Claire was excited to experience it for herself this year.

"Where did we put the bags?" she asked worriedly, coming out of the bedroom to see Shawn casually on the sofa. He stood up to get them but quickly kissed Claire on the forehead before holding her waist gently to climb past and get the bags from his room.

When they were loaded in the car, they decided to sit next to each other at the back of the minivan.
"Only the bad kids sit at the back!" Jack teased, earning a smile from Fiona who was sitting next to him in the middle. Reina was driving and Zjef was sitting in the passenger seat to keep her company while the two couples flirted the whole way.

"Let's put some music on!" Claire shouted from the back. Everyone cheered and Reina turned up the radio really loud. They all sang along for ages until Fiona got tired and she decided to have a nap. She leant her head on Jack and he put his on top. Soon they were both dead to the world and Zjef was asleep too in the front. Reina stopped for coffee but she was getting tired too and they still had about an hour left of the journey.

"Do you want me to drive? I don't mind," Shawn offered.

He sat up the front with Claire and put his hand on her thigh when he was driving which sent butterflies in her stomach. They finally arrived by the villa and woke the other four up to settle in.

"Bagsy the biggest bedroom!" Jack shouted like a little kid, grabbing Fiona's hand and rushing inside to claim their room. The others carried the bags inside and found their own rooms.
