Prologue
"Listen, I'm not someone you would want to fall in love with again" he hisses with dark eyes.
"Why Not?" I asked in a gentle whisper.
He moves closer to me with a wicked smile softly cuffing my chin with the palm of his hand.
"Things have changed in my life. I CAN'T fall in love. its a rule"
And with that everything went dark. I was left alone contemplating so many questions of what he meant.
1. Why was it a rule?
2. Was he part of some secret society?
3. Was he just simply afraid to take a chance on me...again?
I bit hard on my lip trying to wrap my head around why would it be a rule...NOW? especially since we were each others first loves.
