Connie was a Freshman in high school. A 14 year old girl, lesbian, who played every sport and applied for every scholarship that was possible. Hoping to get into a relatively good college and take photography classes.
Today hadn't been any different than a regular school day until the 'new girl' walked in. It had been halfway through the year when she came, and when she walked in Connie almost felt as though her heart stuttered.
She had bright blonde hair, but not to the point where it was platinum. A simple, red and white polka-dot swing dress, kind of like Minnie The Mouses', draped across her body. Her nails matching the heeled boots and red of her dress.
"Why don't you take a seat next to Matthew?" Ms. Renner said, addressing the girl.
"Thank you." She replied, giving a small smile that just made Connie's heart do a flip. She watched as the mystery girl made her way across the room to Matthew.
It then hit Connie like a truck, and made her turn away immediately and look at the board. A girl that pretty? Sitting next to Matthew Summers? If she wasn't straight before she probably is now.
Connie did have to admit the boy was cute, although not her type for multiple reasons.
What Connie hadn't known yet, is that over the next two and a half years, she'd get to know the girl a little more than she might've realized.
