So good

Several weeks had passed and still, Angel's head waivered back and forth for a bit before dropping to the desk. She had become so paranoid of the dark that she no longer stayed late at Kale. Not only that, but her nights were often sleepless and filled with drinks of piping hot tea and books. A knock at her door caused her to pick her head up and look at the adult in the doorway with eyes half open. "Work finally getting to ya?" Gilbert asked, setting a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup in front of her.Angel sighed gratefully, "A little, I guess," she replied. She opened the lid, letting the warm white steam hit her face along with the tasty fragrance. "Guess I'm not going out for lunch either," she concluded, grabbing a large chunk of graded tests and dropping them onto the floor to make room for the bowls and utensils."Don't you usually cook for lunch though? I haven't seen you with any homemade food recently.""Yeah, I've been on the tired side. Maybe I've been watching too many movies, but to tell you the truth, I'm a little paranoid about the dark," she added with a whisper."Oh, really? Why is that?" Gilbert asked, interested, as he scooped soup into her bowl."I guess I assume the things I watch on detective TV shows are going to happen to me. Maybe I need to watch a cooking show or something. Got any recommendations?""Oh yeah. There is this one guy, he's really good at cooking, but he's angry all the time. He abhors raw food with a passion. I can look him up for you if you need," Gilbert offered, watching her blow on her soup and take a taste."Mmmm, this is so good. Thank you so much. Although, I may need a raincheck on that cooking show. I need something calming and friendly, to help me relax.Gilbert hummed thoughtfully as he took a spoonful himself, "You wanna go watch an action movie tonight then?" he offered.Angel drummed her fingers against the table twice in thought before deciding, "Maybe another time, I really need to cut down on my screen time," she decided, snatching up a napkin to wipe her mouth."Oh okay... um, what about going to a massage spa? I someone who owns one if you're interested. It should get you relaxed in no time," Gilbert cried excitedly, positive this was the solution to Angel's problem. "Maybe, I'll let you know," Angel concluded, finishing up her soup quickly."What's the rush?" Gilbert asked, seeing she was grabbing her bag."I almost forgot one of my students is presenting in the auditorium and I promised to watch," Angel cried, bounding out of her office."Wait, I want to come!" Gilbert shouted after her, fumbling to clean the dishes quickly. Bovey twisted his fingers nervously as he watched the seats of the auditorium fill quickly from behind the curtain. He looked behind him at his project, gulping as he wondered how the crowd would react. Angel bounded up the stairs, rushing over to him, "Bovey, are you ready?" she asked with enthusiasm."I think so," he said with a nervous smile."You'll do great, I'm sure. Don't worry too much," she insisted giving him a comforting pat on the back. Professor Gilbert briskly walked up to the stairs and onto the stage as well, "Bovey?" he asked in surprise. "You came to see Bovey?" he inquired, his mind contemplating."Yes, he's my student, don't you remember?" Angel asked."Yes, I do," Gilbert replied, "I'm just wondering why he decided to get so close to his teacher all of a sudden," he added under his breath.Gilbert and Bovey exchanged an argumentative look behind Angel's back as she analyzed Bovey's constructed Colosseum. Bovey swatted his arm, hissing urgently at Gilbert to go away, but the older man growled dangerously in response.Angel turned around, "everything looks neat and on point, no need to sweat it," she confirmed standing up with confidence. Suddenly her phone began ringing. She picked it up, turning away from the two men still having a silent mental fight, that she still failed to notice.A few seconds later she came back, "Sorry, Bovey. The dean wants to have an emergency meeting with a few of the teachers on the bathroom incident. I'll have to miss your presentation, but I'm sure Professor Gilbert wouldn't mind staying and watching," she smiled intriguingly. As she bounded away, Bovey whirled to look directly at Gilbert, "What are you doing here? You weren't supposed to watch her today," he exclaimed."No," Gilbert said, flicking Bovey's paper construction nonchalantly, "I was just being a good coworker and helping out a girl being stalked to the point she's paranoid. Seriously, Taehyung needs to work on his interaction with women he's interested in. Otherwise, they'll run so fast, they won't even leave their shadows behind," he finished, grinning at the glowering Bovey. "Your presentation is going to funk..." Gilbert finished with a deep chuckle. "We both know professor Angel was just being nice."Bovey grabbed all of his notecards, crushed them in one hand and hurled it at Gilbert, hitting his head with a thud, "You better not tell her!" he hollered.Gilbert whirled around, bounding up in Bovey's face in two leaps. "Boy, you better watch it. You're not the boss of me and you never will be," he faked a smile as the stage director signaled Bovey they were about to start. "Don't think you can mess with me just because you're close to Taehyung, and don't think you're safe either. I could end you faster than you could snap your fingers," he growled in Bovey's ear before walking away.Once again, as she was walking home, she could feel the presence of someone watching her. As she walked, she turned around to scan for any living presence. Nothing. Deciding to follow her instincts, she walked down a dark alley. Taehyung, noticing she walked down a dark alley that was barricaded on three sides by a thick wall, grew worried when she didn't emerge. The hair on the back of his neck rose, a feeling that Angel's safety was in jeopardy caused him to relinquish the cover of the shadows and hurry in after her. Taehyung paused before turning into the sketchy alley. He tilted his head back a bit and took a deep breath through his nose. He smelled her fresh peppermint perfume along with the aroma of human, but at the same time, her scent was mixed with the scent of rotting trash. Huffing a little, he carefully picked his way into the alley, his body tense for anything. His eyes grew accustomed to the gloomy passageway, and he didn't like it. It was almost as if she disappeared, but at the same time, he knew she was near. "Was it possible she had the power to turn invisible? Was there such a thing in this world?" he wondered in his head. His silent footsteps glided by a row of blue and green garbage containers. As he turned his body to look into the tiny crevasse of between the containers to see if she squeezed herself between them, he jumped three feet in the air when the top of one of the containers flew up off of its hinges. "Hey, you! What are you doing stalking me?!" Angel demanded, spraying pepper spray into Taehyung's eyes before he could reply. Two things happened at once. One, Taehyung growled as he covered his eyes, tripping over his own legs as he backtracked. He fell on his bum as he shut his eyes, trying to cry out the stinging pain in his eyes. Second, the black cap of the container had been thrown so harshly open, that it hit the brick wall and fell back down, smacking Angel on the head. The top whacked her head back into the garbage can, causing her to drop her pepper spray outside, her arms wiggling themselves back into the container. Angel stumbled out of the garbage can, pointing an accusing finger at the man growling angrily on the ground. Taehyung was pounding on the container behind him since he didn't have any water to wash out the stinging chemicals deluding his sharp vision. He sucked in air through his nostrils, catching the scent of water nearby, but he wanted to demand an explanation from this idiotic woman who sprayed him without waiting for his explanation. Eyes closed, he shot up from his sitting position and caught the collar of her shirt, roughly pulling her closer to him, "What was that for?" he roared. Angel gulped, "how did he know where I was with his eyes closed?" she thought. On instinct, her arm flew without her thinking to smacked his cheek. Taehyung's hand flew twice as quickly to catch her hand mid-flight. "Woman... don't test me. I asked why you pepper sprayed me," he said in a low tone, his voice getting deeper at each syllable. "Uh, I- Why- Because you're stalking me..." she stuttered, trailing off as she leaned as far away from the stranger as she could. As she tried to get him to release her, she couldn't help but notice his silver hair seemed incredibly familiar. "Gosh, you smell terrible," he cried, letting her collar go. Angel didn't wait for him to do anything else before she sprinted toward home. "Hey, where are you going? I didn't let you leave!" He called after her, inhaling her scent as he raced after her. Angel felt a gush of wind pass her as the man with silver hair burst past her with his eyes closed. Instead of stopping in front of her, as she expected, he curled his left bicep and rammed into her front door, tearing the poor new door off of its hinges. "Oh, my gosh... You did NOT just tear down my new door!" She cried, running into the house. She sprinted into the kitchen to see the man washing his eyes as best he could. She skidded to a stop, realizing what a man was before her. The man was tall and his muscles looked extremely defined as he picked up a towel on his left to wipe his eyes. While she was examining the man in a grey shirt and black jeans, his dark brown eyes turned to look at her. What exuded from his lips caught her off guard twenty million times, "You're not going to change?" he asked. Angel reeled back in horror, "Excuse me?" she asked."You stink like trash. You should change and take a shower before you smell like that tomorrow at work.""You are a creep!" Angel yelled, "Get out of my house!"The man bounded up to her, his dark eyes pierced hers, "You have some issues... Lady.""I don't think I have an issue, MAN. You're the one who is stalking me, and tore my house door down.""Twice," he confirmed."Twice?... Are you the man from the forest? Dude, do you know how much that costs? You're so messed up!""I didn't have the key, and the fastest way of getting rid of your permeating odious odor of blood sweat and tears, was to break through your door," he replied calmly."When I woke up, there was a lot of weird stuff on my arms and legs... Do you happen to know what that stuff was?" she asked, noticing the man's face grow slightly pink."Uhh, NOT...... ....No. I have no idea what that was. Maybe you stepped on some plants that sprayed clear juice on you," he attempted to explain."I never said it was clear! What did you put on me?" She demanded, lunging forward and clutching his collar with her deathlock grip."Well, I may have put saliva on it, because saliva kills germs, and it felt natural..." he cracked, trying really hard to pull her fingers apart.Angel's eyes turned red and her complexion dark as it dawned upon her, "YOU LICKED MY WOUNDS? WHAT ARE YOU? A DOG?" "I don't think that's a very polite way of saying 'thank you,'" he countered.Angel's eyes glowered at him, "Why were you stalking me?""Go change. You'll ruin your house," he said, pulling off his shirt and jeans. Angel whirled around, "What are you doing? Why are you stripping?""You pushed me on a ground full of trash. I smell like you. I need a change of clothes, do you have any?"Angel closed her eyes and rubbed the bridge of her nose in annoyance, "You can take a shower upstairs. I'll leave some clothes outside the door for you." "So what's your name?" Angel asked, leaning over the island and handing the man a cup of hot chocolate."Taehyung, yours?""I'm sure you know mine, you stalked me," Angel reminded, unceremoniously.Taehyung set his cup down, his eyes silently following her movements as she made her own cup of hot chocolate. "I was just making sure you went home safely," he eventually said. As she turned to look at him, he had already turned back to his cup of chocolate, milk, and suga. "Is there a reason you do that? You could have just introduced yourself to me and talked to me like a normal person.""I'd rather just make sure you're okay. Being close to someone... takes an effort and has a lot of risks involved." "Are you okay?" she asked, noticing the pause in his sentence."Yeah, thanks for asking," he replied, his eyes twinkling brightly as a smile, for the first time, decorated his face."Uh... are you sure? Why are you smiling?" she asked, leaning against the lower cabinets, her warm cup sitting comfortably between her fingers as she sipped the warm liquid."Nothing. I just thought of something," he replied. Angel raised an eyebrow at the irony.Taehyung walked towards the door but halted and turned to look at Angel with raised eyebrows. "Oh, about that, you may have to use the window to get out until I replace the door, Muscle Man," she said nonchalantly. The ripped doorway, with splitters of wood peeling off at the edges due to the sudden impact, was wrapped up in plastic saran wrap."So you want people to see you don't have a door?" He asked."Not my fault my door was broken twice. I can only think of blocking the doorway with my fridge, but I have to push it.""You should buy yourself some extra doors, you seem to be short a few," he laughed much to his own amusement.
