A night of firsts for the soon-to-be parents

Written for NaruHina week 2019 - Day 1

For the umpteenth time, Hinata moved in her bed. The urge to pee had woken her up and now, she failed to fall back asleep.

It wasn't because Naruto was snoring next to her. She got used to it by now. It was more because of herself. Or rather, because of the little human being living inside her belly. He wanted something, but she didn't know what.

She had already got up twice. The first time to drink a glass of water and the second time, right when she was about to fall asleep, she had to go to the bathroom. Now, she had no clue of what he wanted.

She gently caressed her big belly under her t-shirt. "Tell me that's wrong." she murmured.

"Rasengan!"

Pushing on her arms to sit up, Hinata sighed before looking at her husband experiencing another agitated dream, which hadn't happened for a long time.

Every morning of their first month as a couple, Naruto's room looked like a battlefield because he was moving too much in his small bed, pinning Hinata between his body and the mattress. During these mornings, it was hard for him to wake up. Then, when he would succeed at opening his eyes, his face was horribly tired due to the lack of rest.

Hinata had worried for him, but Naruto assured her that it was normal. However, she soon noticed changes when she had started to cook for both of them.

So, wanting to solve this problem, Hinata started cooking vegetable soups for dinner. Not liking the idea too much at the beginning, Naruto had eventually accepted to please her. But in the end, this issue quickly vanished and they were able to have good night sleep.

Used to eat ramen anytime of the day, Naruto's body had the need to be physically active all the time to digest all the calorific food its owner would eat. But thanks to Hinata's cooking, his stomach wasn't complaining anymore.

But now, if Naruto's sleep wasn't peaceful anymore it was because of her pregnancy. He couldn't help but think and worry too much.

But wasn't it what parents would feel for the well-being of their children?

Fortunately, Hinata could be relieved to not be pinned down between the bed and Naruto anymore. He was too scared to hurt the baby.

Don't get her wrong, she loved to be in Naruto's arms, but lately she was already feeling huge enough to have a third weight to carry. Plus, she really enjoyed when he would leave nothing to be desired.

Suddenly, obviousness lighted her though and Hinata realised the baby must be hungry.

What had she had for dinner?

Surely not enough for two, including one who was quickly developing his chakra. Now, she was the one who had to change her eating habits.

For the third time she pushed herself straight, climbed off and left Naruto alone in bed.

On tip-toe, She went downstairs to their super big kitchen and opened the fridge. "Let's see what we can eat." She caressed the belly.

Unfortunately, she found nothing she was craving for. She closed the fridge and opened every cupboard, trying to not be too noisy. There must be some cinnamon rolls left somewhere. She hadn't eaten all of them already.
