Liz And The Last Olympian

Chapter Four

"Why did you betray him?" I yell/ask Nico. "He has been nothing but nice to you."

I can't do anything. I'm out of my realm. And I'm surrounded by skeletons that I can't kill. Nico ignores me.

"Tell me about my mother," Nico demands.

"Why should I do that?" Hades asks his son.

"You promised," he complains. He still is only fourteen. I keep forgetting that, because he looks seventeen. Weird.

"You never made me promise on the river of Styx," Hades states.

"Make me one then," I state. Everyone looks at me. "Promise on the river of Styx that if it gets to rough out there, you'll help. And I'll see to get you more respect on Olympus."

"I swear on the river of Styx," Hades says. He snaps his fingers.

"Nico," he orders. "Take her out of here."

Nico grabs my arm and pulls me down the hallways until we come to a wall. He waves his hand. The wall disappears to reveal Percy. He comes rushing out.

"I knew I could trust you," Percy says to Nico.

"Sorry about earlier," I tell him. He nods his head. He grabs my arm and pulls me behind him. Percy follows us. We come to the river of Styx.

"Get in," Nico says. "And remember what anchors you to earth."

Percy walks in and swim down. He becomes limp and starts to rise.

"It's normal," Nico informs me. "What did you think of my sister?"

I was thrown off by the question.

"She was amazing," I tell him. "She didn't deserve how her life ended. No one should have their lives ended that way."

He nods his head. Percy walks up.

"Can we get out?" I ask Nico. He nods his head. He leads us up the set of stairs. I feel better when sunlight cover my skin. Home. I turn to see Nico upset. I give him a hug.

"I'm sorry," I whisper in his ear. I let go and follow Percy till he finds a rainbow. He throws a gold drachma.

"Annabeth Chase," he says. An image of Annabeth comes.

"Hey Seaweed Brain and Beauty Queen," she says.

"Hi Wise Girl," Percy and I say at the same time.

"Time to prepare for war," Percy informs her. She nods her head. The image vaporize. I stretch my arms and take a breath.

"You would have never known this," I tell Percy, "but I had asthma. It's different not having to worry about an asthma attack."

"I did not see that one coming," Percy says. I laugh. Someone tries to tackle me, but I hold my ground. I turn to see it's Silena. I can tell she has been crying. I give her a giant hug. I should have tried to protect Beckendorf harder. I let her go as Annabeth walks up.

"That was extremely fast," I tell her. She just nods her head.

"Where's Ares cabin?" I ask her.

"Angry at everyone," she says. Something takes over me.

"Only an Ares child can kill the monster," I say. my voice sounds distant. I fall over. Will catches me.

"He is going to regret this," I mutter. I stand back up.

"Who?" Will asks. I give him a nasty glare. He puts his hands up in defense.

"Not your father," I say sarcastically. Percy laughs.
