Kacey McGuire isn't the best daughter in the world, and enjoys pushing her parents' buttons (especially her mother's), but this time, she's taken it too far and her mother has decided to give her an ultimatum. Either she gets her act together or it's off to boarding school. Kacey decides to call her mother's bluff, but after successfully sneaking out and getting caught, her mother goes to make good on her threat. Kacey's only savior is her father who, remembering the innocent daddy's girl she'd once been, thinks boarding school is too harsh a punishment, but Kacey is also wearing his patience with her thin. So, after yet another mishap on her part, Kacey's father decides that it's a good idea to send her somewhere, so she doesn't corrupt her 5 year old sister, just not to a boarding school. Instead of boarding school, like her mother wanted, he decides to send her to live with her slightly older twin half-brothers.
Kacey thinks it's the worst thing ever. She has no idea what's waiting for her once she gets there and she's sure that it's not something that she'll be looking forward to. Kacey doesn't know how she'll manage living her life with only two friends and over-protective brothers as the only people she knows.
