"Come on, Suz, we've got to go!" A voice called to me as I was pulling on a hoodie in my bedroom. It was my flatmate, Joe, and it made me pull my hoodie on just a little bit quicker and run out to the living room, pulling on trainers as I went.
"Alright. I'm ready." I told him, and we left the flat, hopping straight on the train to White Hart Lane. Joe had won priority tickets for front row seats at the spurs game, so he'd decided to invite me, as we were both big fans of the football team. And any opportunity to see Son I would take. He was my favourite player. When we got off the train, we went straight to the stadium and got into our seats after half an hour, drinks in hands. Eventually the players came out onto the vibrant pitch and began to warm up. I kept my eyes on Son the whole time. Then the match started, and Joe and I watched contently, clearly having the best view being up the front. I was ready to see the team win. When we reached half-time, it wasn't looking good. Spurs were down one-nil, which was disappointing. I felt as if it was stupid having front row tickets for a match we were going to lose.
"They need to pick up the pace a bit, don't they?" Joe said, and I nodded.
"They do. It's a bit disappointing, really." I told him, but then we both looked back out at the pitch, watching the players leave for their break. I could see Son walking with Dele, but then the strangest thing happened. He looked directly at me. I thought he was just looking casually, until he looked at me again, focused entirely on me. My heart skipped a beat.
"Woah, was Son just making googly eyes at you?" Joe asked, and I laughed nervously.
"I don't know, it could have been someone else..." I said.
"No, he was definitely looking at you, Suzie." He said, and I blushed deeply. After that he decided to let it go, and after the 15 minutes the game started again. The second half of the match was better. Spurs managed to score two goals, but it was only narrowly not enough, as in the end they lost 3-2. Son scored one of the goals, and one was scored by Harry Kane. I'd heard Kane was going out with one of the stewards, so it wasn't surprising when he walked off the pitch with a young steward, about his age, with caramel brown hair. Joe stood up to leave at the end, and I followed suit, until he stopped me.
"Son's looking at you again, Suzie." He said, and I looked over to see Son gazing at me again. I smiled slightly, then stood in shock as he began to walk over to me. He should have gone inside by now.
"Is he allowed to do that? I thought they were supposed to be inside now." I asked, and Joe laughed.
"Just go with it, Suzie. I'll see you back at the flat." He said, before patting me on the shoulder and walking away. I noticed son had stopped at a steward near the tunnel, and had pointed in my direction. The steward walked over to me and smiled.
"You've got Son's attention. He wants to see you." He told me.
"Are you sure it's me he wants to see?" I asked, and he rolled his eyes at me.
"He specifically said girl with dark hair and glasses, wearing the faded hoodie." He said, and I blushed. "He said to meet him by the tunnel in 20 mins, when the crowd is gone." He told me, and I nodded.
"Will do. Thanks." I said, and turned to walk away, grinning like a madwoman.Surely enough, 20 minutes later when all the crowd and stewards were gone, I went back to the pitch. I climbed over the barrier onto the pitch, and turned towards the tunnel to see Son, smiling at me. I blushed again, the fact that my favourite football player was standing in front of me hitting me.
"Hello, pretty girl." He said, and I blushed even harder.
"Hi. It's so nice to meet you, Son." I told him, and he kissed my hand. A Romantic, clearly.
"It's nice to meet you too, um..." he said, and I realised he didn't know my name.
"Suzie." I told him, and he smiled.
"Pretty name. I, um... wanted to see you properly, because I thought you were pretty, and I wanted to know if you wanted to get a drink with me?" He asked, and I smiled.
"I'd love that."
