This is the last day I would be staying in South Korea, and my last day of middle school. My father announced that I am recommended by Totsuki Academy's chairman, Nakiri Senzaemon.Being the daughter of a famous chef is so frustrating. Expectations are all around my environment and every time I try to cook with passion, other chefs would say,
"Your food must be as good as Juuzo-dono."
"Don't fail the restaurant, (Y/N)-chan."
"The family's name is up to you, (Y/N)-chan."I'm sick of it. Even my classmates are commenting about my family's line, hell, they aren't even Japanese!
Hopefully, as I reach high school, I would meet people who are from prestigious families like me. Speaking of, how is my childhood friend Yukihira Soma doing? I haven't seen him ever since I moved into South Korea to help my father open his restaurant's branch in South Korea.
Our restaurant specialise in Korean and Japanese cuisine because my father is well, Japanese, and my mother is Korean, that explains why.
After my graduation, and I am currently in my father's restaurant, cooking. "Seo-yun, food for table three is ready." I say as I give the plate to our waitress, Oh Seo-yun.
I continue to cook the next order, until my father shows up, "Dad." I mutter while focusing on what I'm cooking. "(Y/N), let me handle the restaurant starting now." he says as he gently grabs the utensils I held.
"What about the Japan branch, dad? Who's taking over?" I question, waiting for my father's response, "Your mother, and you are going back to Japan tonight. Next week's the start of your new school." he smiles.
"I see."
"Excuse me, dad. I'm going to pack my things now." I exclaim, "No worries, (Y/N). I told Yukio-kun to fix your things. They are already in your baggage, and all you need to do is to rest before going to Japan." Dad explains as he expertly cooked a don.
"And I heard from my old friend that Yukihira Soma is also trying out in your school. I hope your bond isn't gone yet!" my father laughs, and I smile as a response. "Good night, Father."
"Good night, (Y/N)."
A FEW DAYS LATER
"Ah! Japan..." I exclaim as I breathe the fresh air of Japan. How long has it been? 3 years? Damn. "(Y/N), welcome home!" my mother greeted as she embraces me.
"It's good that you're back in Japan, (Y/N). However, you're not going to live with me while you're at the academy. And I told Soma-kun about your arrival today. Your friend is excited, does he have a crush on my daughter?" My mother laughs hysterically.
"Mom, you do know I'm gay, right?" I sigh. "Of course (Y/N)! I was just messing with my lovely daughter. Come on, let's have some dinner before you go to school tomorrow. Alright?" she says. I nod in response and had one of the best dinners of my life. I'm so thankful that both my parents are amazing people, and that I get like 5-star meals everyday of my life.
TOMORROW
Yukio-san drove me in front of the big, intriguing and overwhelming academy. God, I probably don't deserve going here.
