White. It was all I saw. Four white walls connected by a white ceiling. A small white desk with a precarious white chair. My small wooden bed, painted bleach white, its mattress becoming dingy. The two thin sheets, a bleach white along with the pillow. The heavy steel door was painted white on my side. I always imagined what it looked like on the other side. Above the door was a small digital clock that read 01:56. Four minutes until lunch.

It was the same schedule every day; 7:00 in the morning, injections. 9:00, breakfast. 12:00, injections. 2:00 in the afternoon, lunch. 4:00, injections. 8:00 at night, dinner. 9:00, injections and a book. I know, it sounds like a punishment. It's just how life is around here. They tell us the injections are to keep our immune system up.

The rules are: 1, We're never allowed outside of our room. 2, We can't talk to the person in the next room. 3, We can't talk to them. 4, We have to eat all of our food. 5, We can't fight back. 6, We can't cry. 7, We can't make loud noises. 8, We can't hit the walls. 9, We can't make our rooms dirty. 10, We can't try to escape. There is no escape.

I turned my head to the noise of the door being unlocked. The door never gets opened. Two brown girls walked in and looked at me. The one on the left was the one to speak, "40782. Come with us." I just sat there. "Be obedient. It is time for your test. Come with us." I slowly got up and walked towards the girls. The one on the right put silver circles on my wrists and hurtfully tightened them. They both took a position on either side of me and grabbed each arm. We then walked out of the door.
