"Princess, you're to have breakfast with Prince Evander this morning." One of my maids entered my room to help me get dressed.
"Thank you for informing me." I sat as she brushed my hair.
"Your highness..." She gently touched my neck. I saw the bruise in the mirror. I quickly covered it with my hand.
"Too many bugs out last night." I smiled. She slowly nodded.
"I shall prepare a scarf for you, then."
"Thank you." After squeezing into the corseted dress I let her neatly tie a white scarf around my neck. "That looks nice. Thank you."
"Don't get me into trouble, your highness." She winked before leaving. I made my way down towards the garden dining room. The clicks of my shoes against the stone floor echoed through the empty halls. As I arrived, two guards opened the glass doors for me. Evan sat inside, wearing a relaxed outfit of just an airy white top tucked into high rising black pants.
"Your majesty." He stood. I waited for the doors to close behind me.
"(y/n)." I stepped down towards the small table. A variety of fruit and pastries were beautifully arranged along with many types of tea. "Did you have a restful night here?" He leaned his head to the side and cracked his neck.
"Sure." He flashed me a quick wink before he began eating a cream filled pastry.
"What time did you finally return last night?" I picked up a slice of orange with my small fork.
"Not sure, it wasn't that long after you though." He took a slow sip of his tea. "Why, were you worried?"
"N-no...I mean...I wouldn't want something bad to happen to you. Were you worried about me?" He paused chewing a large piece of bread, staring at me.
"No." He said, mouth full.
"I see." I went back to eating.
"How was your night?"
"Oh you care?"
"No, I just want to know that mine was better." He grinned, downing a glass of juice.
"My night was...fine." I took one last sip of tea and folded my napkin, placing it neatly on the table. I stood and headed towards the door that led to the garden.
"Where are you going?"
"Why does it matter?" I stopped in the doorway, looking back at him.
"Because you're not capable of looking after yourself. And if something happened I would get all of the blame." He threw his napkin on the table and followed me outside. I tugged slightly on the scarf. It was getting hot and itchy. "Why are you wearing a scarf on such a warm day?" He laughed and walked beside me. "You really are an odd one, huh?" I ignored him and continued walking. "Hey, you're sweating like a farmer." He grabbed onto the end of the scarf.
"Hey! Stop!" It unravelled and fell to the ground. I quickly slapped my hand over the marks.
"What's that? What are you covering? Did you share your bed with a man last night?" He chuckled and grabbed my wrist, pulling it away. "O-oh...I..." He let go of my hand. "Sure, you do you." He looked away uncomfortably.
"N-no it wasn't a man!"
"Ah, you prefer a woman's company in your bed. That's fine with me."
"N-no! No no no!" I stomped my foot against the ground.
"What a baby." He laughed and then crossed his arms, staring at something behind me. "Seems you have a visitor."
"What do you want, Apollo?" I spun around and fell back.
