The Beginning

The desert can be an unforgiving place, especially for travellers. Unforgiving. A word of understatement for those who experienced the inhospitable location although many people are successful in being able to make it across. The combination of the acrid air, lack of water, searing heat, along with the deadly creatures that reside in the landscape makes it practically impossible for venturing across it; that is for most people.

Across the giant, barren landscape, a lone figure can be observed. It was walking across the desert with a rather slow pace, almost dragging itself on the sand.

The traveller had been sighted all over the continent, although news of it has been limited to local towns only, mainly because the figure had only been travelling through different towns, without acknowledging their presence and had always remained silent whenever he passed through a town; according to witnesses.

Travellers were definitely common in local towns. The only thing that had made the lone traveller different to others was his clothing. Slight variations of its description had been passed throughout different regions but most of it remained similar. Judging by its height and body build, the traveller was most likely male. The traveller was sighted wearing the same attire when he passed through a town. It was predominately black, aside from the brown vest covering his chest and torso. Multiple pockets surrounded his waistline, with what seemed to be knee pads on his knee. A small rectangular block was on his shoulder, probably connected to his vest was constantly flashing a green light.

Despite his appearance, the institute still hadn't bothered to investigate, mainly due to the fact that he hadn't caused any trouble. And then I fucked up
